Missing; 93′000 People: World Cup Story

The vendors complained…

The taxi drivers complained…

The prostitutes complained…

Where was the proliferation of visitors and revenue that had been promised for the world cup?

Who you did not hear from were the promoters.

Several persons staged world class entertainment events in an effort to “cash in” on the promised world cup fever, investing millions of dollars. Instead they ended up all ‘cashed out’ as despite their best efforts many of the shows were not well attended.
While the government boasts of the revenue they collected at Kensington Oval little is said about the multiplicity of entertainment events which flopped as the volume of visitors anticipated did not materialize.

Still the government continues to claim 90’000 visitors came despite the Indian fans that opted out; in fact they increased the arrivals to 93’000. Question is where did the 93’000 people go? they certainly did not go to shows nor did they purchase cds.
It’s like they landed at the ports and disappeared; we should call in Scotland Yard, or at least some one who lives in the Scotland district.

Ah ha!!! Got Yuh!! Reifer was crying a bucket a drop that he suffered losses so there!! he was at Dover if memory serves me right…and you know that that plan looked good on paper until. so Boycee, I dont see it from your point of view. People were complaining before the WC was even here and the few that complained since had some seriously igrunt and flawed strategies for garnering business. I have no doubt that the reporters knew that too and wanted to put the negative crap out there. How many complained after the final?…I know that nuff of them made a good lil berry for the finals..but you would not hear them bro…they aint want the tax man, nor the other bajans to know. All of us would be like that woman that Eric Lewis met last crop over…wanting sumthin fuh Xmas from anybody who peep and say they made some change.(she mistek me fuh Santa Claus!
So Pete dont believe the Hype. The hotels made money too..even sour puss Loverridge who has a serious stand off with the Minister of tourism. But yuh aint hearing nuttin but criticism from he.
As for the prostitutes? Peter them women did LOOK SO BAD!!!!!! Jeeez..its just that the drunk fellas were not here yet. I am sure even them ugly bad looking floss wearing over size mampies get wuk too…but them aint gine come back and say they made a killing(no pun intended). Worse is that the same reporter aint went back and check either. How is that for fair and balanced Pete?

    Please be reasonable, .
The Government was kind enought to sponsor a boat, that would normally have made over $85 million, so that uneducated people like you would get the experience of a lifetime by traveling on the high seas at a highly reduced cost. Paid for by taxpayers like me, for the rest of my working life (Legacy). U ungrateful person, asking about 93thousand people. Do the maths, the last world cup was in one territory, and 6hundred and something odd thousand people (or 60 something thousand)Look it up pun de website, went to dat. Now i only went to brumley” wid lik-mout-lou(thanks fuh dat) but I think dat if i divide 6hundred and something thousand by 9 I gine end up wid something like sixty something thousand, per territory. now we a lill further off dan de ress, and a lill far apart, and oil prices does dictate de cost of living in dese developing countries, SO AS I WAS SAYING, if ya aint a millionnaire, ya aint putting aside de 1/4 million dollars to come to de caribbean to see australia (dem again) masacre pakistan fuh dem lotta days or even a few. ya gine stop home and see um pun tv like me, if ya interested.
So back to de main point, wid dat slight igrunt brumley calculation, I did not expect to see more dan 20 something odd thousand peoples bout in any one of dese territories at any given point in time during our successfully executed, legacy making world cup season.
