The Plight of Trevor Eastmond

I received a call during Mothers day with some bad news :-( .

Trevor Eastmond who was scheduled to perform later that same evening at Caribbean Comedy Festival, had been hurt in a house fire and was hospitalised. At the same show later on, it was announced that a benefit concert would be staged to raise funds for Trevor soon. Madd Entertainment will support that effort 100% and I know the entertainment fraternity will too.

It will be interesting to see what the government and NCF will do for Trevor, especially since he is not one of their favorite people.
Eastmond has been contributing to our comedic art form for over 30 years, not only locally but internationally. The Government has this tendency to come with a lotta pretty talk when it comes to supporting artistes and when some misfortune occurs and you need their assistance all of a sudden they disappear or just point blank say NO!. (Check what happened to Romeo)

Trevor will need the support of the entertainers and the public and we should be there for him in his time of need.

Read the story here.

Please do not be so harsh in the Government,
Remember they just spent over a whoophing 200 million dollars on cricket world cup, so that we can have a legacy. So they will be broke for a spell. They must now also look for monies to fund the upcoming surprise election that’s on the horizon after a successful (according to “noel”) world cup stint.
So please, if they give a little something or nothin g lets be grateful for the legacy we now have.

With or without CWC (Cricket Without Crowd) the govenment would still be broke. With all the children “Baby Daddy’ got knocking around that ‘child money’ bill has got to be high hence the NEED to win the next election.

But on another note, it would be great if the public gave back to a man that gave sooooo much to them over the years. We as a people need to pull together and help each other in times of need instead of turning a blind eye.

My heartfelt wishes goes out to Trevor Eastmond & others who suffered this misfortune !

Besides the Parliamentary representative & the DLP candidate for Eastmond’s area…..I am yet to hear any Government Minister sympathise with Trevor or pledge any assistance to him.

This being the case it is a sad reflection of this government…..given all Trevor has done for entertainment in this country.

Owen is the Minister responsible for culture….now that the new baby is here..he may be distracted from his national duties !
