Behind The Scenes;Working on the Madd 2007 Album

It is 8 pm Sunday 10th June; I am here in Eric Lewis’s “Boom Town” studio with Eric working on the PC Broomes’ tune for 2007. This is going to be a big one! Can you hear the Rhythm? It sound tight!
Listen out for PC Broomes hitting the radio stations on 16th June 2007 when MADD releases their Crop Over 25th anniversary album “The Jucking Board”.
I was invited to the studio by Keith PC Broomes. MADD does not usually let me in the studio when they are recording. Why? They claim that when I am in the studio I start talking about financial matters and kill their creative vibe. Even when I do my Ali Singh song they make me do the vocals and leave immediately after.
So I feel privileged to be here whilst Eric and Keith are in the process of creating this master piece of a song. People all over Barbados are saying “I hear every body else and I ent hear no MADD music!”So here we are in the studio working on preparing to release, Eric has already finished several songs you will hear early this week.
For the PC Broomes song Eric has constructed a rhythm utilizing “old dub” and he is composing the lyrics on his computer while sipping our official studio drink “Absolute”. I am considered a wimp because I don’t drink it, they used a different word but I am sticking with wimp. PC Broomes’ song this year is about the mini van culture, that is about all I can say, they made me sign a confidentiality clause like the Ncf.
Not only can we see the song being a hit on radio but we are also discussing an impressive presentation that we will use when Bacchanal Time opens on 23rd June. I will be calling Mikey our props man tomorrow and have him start building something. Wait I have a suggestion for Eric, “hey Eric” I say “is it really needed that you put in that extra guitar track? I mean that’s like an extra $200!”
It is 2 am on Monday 11th June; I am now here outside Eric’s “Boom Town” studio where I have been unceremoniously ejected from the creative proceedings. I have been out here for 2 hours now and it is getting cold. I am beginning to get the impression they might let me back in. The music still sounds good from the outside though.
Watch out for Madd’s 2007 album “The Jucking Board” coming soon to a radio station near you!
Wait they are opening the studio door, I think they are letting me back in….. No I was wrong, they threw some kind of water on me… well I hope it was water, I think I am going home…
If during the reading of this blog there is any thing I might have written which might have incensed or offended you, GET OVER IT! There are many things I read and hear in the media on a daily basis that I don't like either. SO DEAL WITH IT! You are welcome to leave your comments though. Make sure and come back yuh hear !!!...
