Thanks For Coming!
I was overwhelmed with a great sense of pride and gratitude as I drove up to the Sir Garfield Sobers Complex on Wednesday 1st August 2007. The occasion was Bacchanal Time VS the Best of Crop Over, one of the most anticipated events of the festival.
As I turned into the Gymnasium car park I was caught in a sea of traffic all headed to see the Bacchanal Time tent for the last time. As an entertainer I feel privileged when I see my own bajan people coming out to support our events. As you would know Bajans ent easy! While there is the belief that Bajans only flock to the gym to see foreign acts, I have also seen international acts flopped big time as they failed to capture the attention or support of our public.
There are some that seek to give the impression that our local entertainment is inferior, they seek to belittle us as bajans and entertainers by giving the impression that it is needed to bring Sherwin Winchester and Vegas to headline our events to get people to come out. Well they can kiss our Bajan entertainment asses!*1

See Edwin ministering his calypso message to a receptive audience at a packed Gymnasium. After him came Hypa Sounds, Donella, Peter Ram, Madd, Lil Rick, and Rameses all Bajans performing Bajan music for a Bajan audience. As a Bajan I am proud to see how Bajans are turning out to see our 100% bajan event.

On Sunday 5th August we invite you to again come out and support another 100 % Bajan effort.
Krosfah, Lil Rick Alison Hinds and a full Bajan contingent cast are presented in “Euphoria” at the Gymnasium tonight from 8 pm.
We look forward to seeing you there.
They are some who feel that the government will be making efforts to stop “Euphoria” but I can assure you that what ever happens you will be able to read a first hand report in Boyce Voice, and I taking pictures too!

I for one was there up front and center, and had a grand time, but then again I am a ’soca junkie’ so can I be an unbias judge of the event…let me answer that for ya…heck yea… it was great the atmposphere was good, the music wonderful…have not missed a bacchanal time versus the best of crop over yet, and if god spare life and I am in barbados I dont intent too either.
