Advocate Editorial; Does Industry Get Its Due?

Did you read the editorial published in the Advocate newspaper on 12th August 2007 entitled “Do Calypsonians Get their Due?”

This is such a beautiful article I could cry then. You need to read it! Don’t let the use of the word “calypsonian” fool you, its contents speak to the entire entertainment industry. Click here to read the full article.

Did you read it? Are you crying like me? Please somebody pass me a hanky…..

It is rare that you see some one from outside the industry write with such pristine clarity and objectivity as it relates to entertainment issues. As Darron said, most people just say we are always causing “trouble” with out taking the time to critically analyze the root of our problems. The writer of this editorial did that and we need to thank them for it.

The Editorial raises the question; How is it that the NCF treats our local entertainment industry like dogs, while they gladly tow and kiss the ass of the foreign acts that they bring here? Whether its in terms of payment or acceding to their intellectual rights. Sorry I could not resist capsulizing in my usual Boyce Voice manner. I Done!

Coming up soon!! NCF Strikes Again” this time Krosfyah and Jabae are in the victimization firing line! You will read bout it here first, unless Ricky Jordan beats me to it, in fact I gine and write bout it now ….
