You have dj's who know little about soca aside from what's been releasing in Barbados over the last few years. Listen to Alvin & Chilly play soca vs. most of the others on the airwaves. They would be the only 2 who consistently bring back songs you never really hear. Not to say the other dj's don't like soca, but they certainly don't pay much attention to it throughout the year to remember past a couple years. Stations really need to filter out the 'crap' that plays. This year was fairly decent for hott fm as I heard less crap than the last few years. 98.1 still played a number of songs that could have well been tossed into the garbage as soon as it was left at the station. Maybe if some of those who made the crappy songs had better guidance they would have made quality tunes. Anyways, there are some definite changes that could help soca from sounding monotonous during the season, and better measures taken so that the music doesn't die once the season ends. How many dj's even listen to the full albums that are released? I don't mean play once, but really sit down and pay attention. Listen to albums by Krosfyah or Square One & TC's old ones & the various compilations...soooo many songs never get play yet they were surely worthy of it. As far as the other issues...well you make plenty of points in your various postings and you'd think common sense would prevail in rectifying such problems.
