Here is Alison’s music video, how come we don’t see these quality videos on our CBC TV?

Sometime ago the N C F hosted a series of seminars and as part of those exercises the music policy of Barbadian Media Houses was examined. It was made very clear that Barbadian Media Houses do not have a music policy as it relates to barbadian music.

I am not talking about playing 70% cropover music and 70% bajan music at independence. I am talking about a proper , structured approach to barbadian music that understands the need to promote barbadian music- not just play a few songs. There is so much recorded music from barbadians that is not promoted by the media houses in Barbados -it is national disgrace- Music in a variety of genres by a variety of artiste including both gospel and secular: rock music from groupw such as Kite; instrumental music from the POLICE FORCE BAND; steelpan music from people such as Morgan, Benn, Banks Sound Tech . There is so much music -I cant call all --I aint talk about reggae, jazz and all the soca/calypso music that does not get played during or after cropover.

I feel so strongly about this that I have applied for permission to picket the radio stations to demand that more local music be played. The Police turned down my application but I AM GOING TO TRY AGAIN.

Any time I get my hands on a radio station I am going to put the present radio stations to shame. The artistes in Barbados must get up and fight and stop being divided. Certain artistes who feel that they are the elite MUST STOP bad talking and blocking others AND LET US MOVE FORWARD TOGETHER TO FIGHT THIS PROBLEM

Thank You !
