Cultural Ambassador Rihanna and Chris Brown in Barbados
Wow that was quite a show last night! The Tribute to Rihanna musical celebration.
All the honour and gifts Rihanna received and deservedly so, including her being designated the distinguished title of Honorary Youth and Cultural Ambassador to Barbados by the Prime Minister.
Also she received a plot of land a jeep and was entertained by dynamic local acts.
Surprise guest last night was a special appearance by American singer Chris Brown who had the ladies screaming.
Here are some exclusive and candid photos compliments Ingrid taken last night.

Chris and Rihanna again

Here is Chris sitting with Rihanna’s dad</p
The local acts last night were excellent and a credit to Rihanna, Starcom radio News dept telephoned during the broadcast to say that people were calling the station and complaining on some aspects of MC KB Kleen’s presentation.
The job of Master of Ceremonies is never an easy one, “space filling” and keeping things on track can sometimes be a challenge.

I think the celebrations for Rihanna were well deserved. It was an exceptional idea to recognize the R&B Star and Fashion icon for her work through the last 2 years. However, I am very displeased with the behavior of some of the acts of that night, namely KB Clean. He was REDICULOUS!!. He kept going on and on about Rihanna and Chris Brown. This was totally uncalled for and it was that occurance and also the behavior of Lil Rick which made me not proud to be a bajan.

rihanna is too gorgeous fuh chris.
i love rihanna.

Without making this a political thing, I want to draw attention to the fact that Rihanna made many return visits to Barbados and they were all treated mediocre. The same person that international fans are fighting to get a glimpse of, we have here coming back to her home country without any fanfare. Was it the Grammy that made the difference or the change in Government?
Youth And Cultural Ambassador
You remember the days when ambassadors would be
Old grey men retired in the society?
Unreachable aristocrats who never spoke
To people like me, it would be a joke
How they all spoke with a British accent
And knew everyone in the Government
No time to spend even a little while
Do nothing more than crack a haughty smile
Could you believe these people were to represent you
Use their position to advance patriotism too
Luxury positions that should develop our society
They were entrusted with this priority
Unbelievable but true and now you know
Rihanna was made ambassador at last night’s show
A change in the old standards, we know positively
Lady, young, was already promoting our society
And now it’s all official from National declaration
Mega star Rihanna will hold this distinct position
Barbados’ most celebrated daughter is now
Ambassador of Youth and Culture and some how
Should fit it in her already monstrous schedule
She’s ready for it and very soon you’ll
Admire this youth’s patriotic quest
Doing good for herself but for others, doing her best
Once you have seen what our new Ambassador will be
Rihanna’s name will be said with pride, by all Society
Notice the message down the left spine of each poem.

I was very pleased to see Rihanna. She is such a beautiful girl and she seems quite humble and appreciative of the honors. The night was marred by the behaviour of KB clean. He is such a total idiot. It was embarrassing for Rihanna I am sure. The girl is allowed to have friends. She is an adult now of course. I wished someone would shut him up. Then to top it all off he called the Right Honorable Prime Minister , Mr. David Thompson, David!!!
Gosh somebody make him give a public apology!!! And take out those cornrows cuz he like he got dem plait too tight!! Gosh MAN!!!!
February 22nd, 2008 at 2:07 pm
So Mr. Boyce has nothing to say about KB’s embarrassing behaviour..what a pal.
February 22nd, 2008 at 3:22 pm
Last night was a total disgrace to Barbados. Kb clean was so unprofessional and not appropiate a master of ceromnies and a comedian dont mix. For Rihanna i know she felt shame and a felt for her to bring Chris Brown to see such disgrace we call a concert. I mean Barbados produce such top class events before and the big night them just mess up big time some public apology should be made.
February 22nd, 2008 at 3:29 pm
KB kleen he was a total disgrace to barbados he kept nagging Rihanna about chris brown causing scandal and now all over America there is pics of this and calling them a couple. I felt for Rihanna she must of been shame i mean to come home knowing barbados can do much better shows and they just mes up her concert and it hurt me that international press was here.
February 22nd, 2008 at 4:39 pm
damn it was good but kbclean he is dumb
February 22nd, 2008 at 5:02 pm
i was soooooooooooo happy with rihanna last night and as always i’m always proud of her i knew her from the time she was about 5 and she’s a really nice person………….on the other hand i hate that idiot kb clean, he did soooooooooooo much foolishness last night and i am truly upset with his behavour last night…..and i now that alot of bajan will hate him from this moment on.
February 22nd, 2008 at 6:32 pm
KB Clean was a ****.
I dunno what this talk is about Lil Rick being embarrassing though, anyone know what Lil Rick did that I didn’t hear about?
February 22nd, 2008 at 6:46 pm
Why has Kevin Hinds gone into hiding, why wouldn’t the Hurricane take any calls this morning? What is even more disturbing than Kevin’s behaviour last night was that no one around him, his co-host, those people back stage, Ingrid, Peter, seemed to say to him “Kevin you need to tone it down a bit or Kevin you going a bit too far. Why does Peter Boyce not mention that is his column. This is a Madd world.
February 22nd, 2008 at 8:38 pm
give kb clean
if you think he made a mistake
thats your opinion –lets move on and take any lessons to be learnt
no need for everybody to jump on the man’s back
the music and the show was remarkably very good
the music was excellent–those guys can play–ohh good !
by the way sequoia
Prime minister thompson is not the right honourable yet
he will become that eventually when he accepts and becomes a member of the privy council
but for now he iz honourable only

give kb clean -a chance
February 22nd, 2008 at 9:11 pm
First of all let me say that I’m very proud of Rihanna and all her accomplishments. I know she will certainly be going further and as Barbados’ Ambassador for Youth and Culture, she will be showcasing our beautiful country for all the world to see (some more). She is blessed in all areas and I ask for the whole of Barbados to keep praying for her. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the “Free” Concert neither was I at home to view it “Live” on CBC’; however I was kept abreast about the happenings of the night via cose friends. After hearing about Kb Kleen’s behaviour as Master of Ceremonies, I found it very diffcult to believe that he would behave in such a rude and ‘out of place’ manner. In my opinion he did cause shame on our Island Princess and he should find it in his heart to make a public apology not only to Rihanna and Chris Brown, but to the entire population of Barbados. This is not what we have to offer KB Kleen. I am not going to call him any rude names here, because I find it is unnecessary to do such a thing knowing that I still consider him an intelligent humble individual. However, I do no know what got into last night. I will leave these words of advice and I hope you KB Kleen will take into consideration, “There is a time and a place for everything.” Last night was a “Tribute” to Rihanna, not the opening of Bachannal Time!!!! Apology is needed.
February 22nd, 2008 at 9:13 pm
WANNA PLL NEED TO STOP HATING AND THE DAM GIRL AND STOP SPREADIING RUMOURS..
February 22nd, 2008 at 10:07 pm
Remind me not to hire KB Dirty for any classy events. What a bloody shame.
February 23rd, 2008 at 12:11 am
You know, we are a very confusing set of people! Yes, I do think that it went a bit far with regards to Chris and Rihanna, but to tell the truth, when you are an entertainer and a popular one at that, you must know that when you attend such a function with a “friend” sitting right next to you as though he is more than a friend since the family was not that close by. You must understand what image you bring!!!! Aint that true…I mean we dont even have to be a mega super star and that happens. I am extremely proud of Rihanna but was disappointed about the production of the show and knowing that we have such talented Event Planners/producers/managers here on this island, I really want to know what is going on. I am one for paying close attention to detail and coupled with the fact that it was covered by BET last night, simple things like the cutting of the cake with a knife and fork (oh my goodness) and plastic plates on the not so decorated table. I mean dont we have the contact numbers of a good event planner???
Yes I know she received a car from Warrens Motors but come on this is a mega superstar now, could you not have found one of the more expensive vehicles to give the lady. But I do know that she appreciated it, and I do know that despite that Warrens Motors you got your marketing/advertising coverage…
I go back to the production, when she received the gifts, my goodness could you not have a stage hand to pass them on to? People we are now more than ever - on the world stage and we must show as though we do know what we are doing!
Leaving the best for last, I was also extremely proud of the backing band and vocalist they were all extremely good and all performances and I give kodos to Richard Stoute who led by example by his attire and lyrics, that performance was fitting for our new musical queen. Ayanna John, Buggy, Shotelle, and of course Red plastic bag, Biggy Irie ( one of the best voices on the island) and none other than MR Dale all did an outstanding job. Those are the ones we too should be proud of. I wanted to go but just had to add this one in. Was the first BGI grammy winner on crack last night and again event planning/production/management - could no one in a diplomatic way ushered him off the stage instead of showcasing his stupidity?
People please everyone is not an event producer just like everyone is not a medical practitioner, show casing the art and science of the decipline is more than planning a birthday part, I would know!
Peace and love people!!!
February 23rd, 2008 at 12:44 am
The occasion has left a bad taste in Rihannas’ mouth I am sure.
I was watching it on the telly I couldn’t believe his actions, from him demanding to know if that was her man or not, it was all down hill from there.
He should have simply acknowledge Chris Brown and get the crowd to give him a clap..simple…proper..class
Now trash is all over the internet.
You just have to google her name now and this type of rubbish is coming up -
****Then, after the formal part of the ceremony was done, **********.com learned that Rihanna’s boyfriend Chris Brown was invited on stage to help the Bajan superstar cut a birthday cake.
It’s official, these two are our new favorite couple.****
You mean to say, the girl can’t have a guest
International press was here for crying out loud!
Totally out of order!!!!
February 23rd, 2008 at 12:48 am
A picture will soon be in one of those weekly American gossip mags, mark my words.
February 23rd, 2008 at 10:01 am
KB Clean is now known as Kb Dirty because he behaved like a total idiot at that you. I know for sure Rhianna must have been really shame, especially the part when he told Chris that he dont want to see no tongue. There is a time and a place for everything and he failed to understand that. Maybe that beahavior would have been fit for LAFF it OFF or so but not such an international event. Evewn if Rhi-Rhi and Chris are a couple that’s none of his business or anyone elses, he’s not even her father to ask such a question. he was a total disgrace, maybe nxt time they’ll think twice before they hire him for such an event. And even so Rhianna might even be hesitant to attend to come back home for anything, because of fear of the embarassment..
I love Rhianna keep doing what you are doing.
February 23rd, 2008 at 10:36 am
Poor KB…AS ALSO AN ENTERTAINER of 25 years and a BAJAN ENTERTAINER at that, I know how it feels to perform in front over 10000 Bajans at a FREE SHOW and on National TV.
Your experience tells you that anything reflecting Barbadiana will move them and that is what the majority will want to hear. You will pay no notice to international press/coverage because when in ROME….
Rap/Hip Hop Artistes and Dancehall Artistes spew out profanity, vulgarity, homophobia, violence, glamourise badboy/gangsta life (I’m 100% positive Rihanna has performed and was in VIP attendance at many of these shows including BEENIEMAN concert here last year) and do you hear int’l criticism?
SO WHY ARE WE SO CONCERNED ABOUT INTERNATIONAL OPINION?
was KB guilty of any of the abovementioned negatives? He apologised iro protocol re the PM and as far as i was concerned THAT WAS ALL HE SHOULD HAVE APOLOGISED FOR.
i sorry it wasn’t me cause YOU WOULDN’T GET NO APOLOGY OUT OF ME!
did the Blp or Owen Arthur ever apologise for the character assassination of pollster PETER WICKHAM?
finally the critiques were aimed at KB, MYSELF AND LIL RICK…THE THREE entertainers who depend SOLELY on the support of the general masses….in front of our major supporters WE HAD TO MOVE THEM.
and as if for peeps like BAJAN ICE PRINCESS and DENNIS JOHNSON who seems to feel that all OF us entertainers are pleased with performing to nice polite applause….GET REAL! I find it extremely BORING and originating from a dub environment of which i accustom to mashing up de place and WREAKING HAVOC it was hard to behave.
THIS WAS NOT A BLACKTIE AFFAIR OR A POSH CEREMONY WITH FORMAL/SEMIFORMAL WEAR THIS WAS A FREE CONCERT IN FRONT THE BAJAN MASSES WITH YOUNGSTERS PERCHED ON TOP BARROW STATUE. GET REAL PEOPLES! THIS IS 21st CENTURY BARBADOS!
February 23rd, 2008 at 10:42 am
P.S: LOOK OUT FUH MY PIGTAIL SONG NEXT WEEK…FOR SPITE I WILL RELEASE IT WITH KB AND HURRICANE!!!
February 23rd, 2008 at 10:57 am
ALSO A TRIBUTE TO RIHANNA IN SONG TO FOLLOW…THAT’S MY GIRL ANND IM PROUD OF HER
February 23rd, 2008 at 12:32 pm
yeah yeah i’m sure Kidsite because this is the 21st century Barbados I don’t want to see. This is a classic example i’m talking about people condoning bad behavior, there is a time and place for everything and Independence Square was not the place for such behavior. We have come a long way and i like to see my people moving forward but it is a shame to see some people still think this is acceptable behavior when it is not.
Instead of writing a pigtail song write about kidsight must be blind to think this behavior is soul pleasing.
Peace and Love
February 23rd, 2008 at 3:26 pm
dis response fuh kid shite….
i would expeck you to suh ef it did you, you din gine apologise…cause you en know out culture…but a cawmerian shoud know better..dah is a nuniversity ‘ par excellence……’when yuh do sumting shitty an embarrassing it en only wunna myopic performers, um is cawmerians firs an foremost….whihc make up three quartuh o’ de intelligent population…so shite…cah yuh pig-tail!
on anudduh p’int….why you did dress up like a bajan poppit den ef um din nuh formul neffin!
doan look up now. de spit on de way back down…an ef yuh do…shut yuh freakin’ mout!
THE BOTTOM LINE YOU SING SHITE
KB WAS DIRTY
SHANTELL CAN’ SING REGGAE
AN’ WE HAVE FINALLY MADE DE ENQUIRER AN DEM KINDA PAPERS WID PICTURES AN’ EVAHTING…WE GI’ DE GURL A PAIL A MILK AN LIKE A BAD COW…KICK IT TO FRANCE DOWN,,,,

February 23rd, 2008 at 3:27 pm
hail i dont eat nah pigtail………..somebody got it all wrong….wat happened to ella ella ella eh eh eh……tht shouldave been the refrain being sung and heard……..
February 23rd, 2008 at 4:10 pm
Indeed there is a time and place for everything.
International press or not, the occasion was to honor Rihanna and as such he should have been mindful of what he said. From the time he asked her if that was her man, you could see her shield her face with the palm of her hand, a typical gesture of ’shame’, an attempt to ‘hide’ and that’s why I said it went all pear shaped from then. The gig was not about him nor AMUSING Barbadians at the girls EXPENSE.
People who PAY to go to KB’s tent, know full well that if they sit at the front, or anywhere for that matter, they are liable to be singled out for ‘fun loving ridicule’. The Believe event was not that sorta party!
I’m sure KB was paid for his services. It’s clear he went into ‘comedian mode’ and no doubt, as KidSite says, it isn’t easy to MC, after all, there was a need for much padding, but still, it was obvious that the girl was embarrassed.
Was it the KB Show or an event to honor Rihanna?
Time and place…time and place. Maybe I am assuming everyone knows this
When people used to read that Rihanna says Bajans don’t like her, blah blah and all other such reports, I’ve read on other forums that ‘She talks too much and making Barbados shame coz it ain’t everyone that says so’… But now photos and video footage circulating the globe…The girl is damned if she does and damned if she don’t
No one likes to be shamed ESPECIALLY for the whole world to see.
Bottom Line: Getting a cheap laugh at someones expense is NOT amusing
February 23rd, 2008 at 5:38 pm
IN RESPONSE TO “EYE BAWLIN”
you sure you went to Cawmere? You more sound like someone who either went to the Mental or soon ready to go to the Mental….cause you have real issues, partnuh…you vex with the whole world.
You must dress properly on the people stage, partnuh….even if you singing shite…becuz at the end of the day…people like fun or shite as you would call it…everything ain bout love song and patriotic song.
PETER BOYCE,ERIC LEWIS AND KB would tell you…HUMOUR IS THE HARDEST THING TO WRITE OR CREATE. The rest don’t even come near as challenging.
February 23rd, 2008 at 7:20 pm
Hi, I don’t blame KB Kleen, I blame the organizers, They have only seen him emcee in a tent yet they chose him, It clearly meant that they wanted tent behaviour. KB kleen was just being himself ‘A madd entertainer”, so what do you expect
February 23rd, 2008 at 8:35 pm
Hey Kidsite —my buddy
how yuh get the thing bout owen fit in here (lol lol lol )
“did the Blp or Owen Arthur ever apologise for the character assassination of pollster PETER WICKHAM?”
come on man election done
let we move forward
i like what yuh saying about being ourselves
i think a lot of the foolish talk about kb kleen is based on the fact that we dont like we self
i hear somebody on the call -in show bemoaning the fact that kb used bajan dialect
“he shoulda use english” the body say
—nonsense–i say
we iz bajans and we in bim
and remember that kb was wearing cornrows –(poop!)
and right now cornrows iz a problem-
can you believe that in this day this foolishness about cornrows exists in barbados
are we going back or forward ?
cheez on bread man!
February 23rd, 2008 at 8:37 pm
mental slavery !
February 23rd, 2008 at 8:39 pm
hey site –
you sound very acid on this blog
iz this an indication of things to come during crop-over ?
will there be a cropover this year though ???
February 24th, 2008 at 12:07 am
hey asiba buddy. I’m not really acid…just having fun….first time on this blog but i’m accustom to being on a westindian messageboard where the peeps are very aggressive si i carried some of that behaviour over here.
People here kinda soft and temperamental…want KB to apologise…apologise for what?…Teasing Rhi Rhi and Chris Brown?..pleeeeeeeeese get a life! They say he behave bad…as I said before they wanted this posh polished bourgeois behaviour throughout for the international audience….i can’t say i like it as i alway have liked my bashy ghetto people…i just feel that polished thing is fraudalent IMO. No wonder Jesus kept far away from the phony authorities and went among the fishermen and whores.
But then again from a teenager i was in the dubs with the poor people so i very comfortable with them even though i went to Harrison College with most of its products being stuck-up and acting better-off.
February 24th, 2008 at 12:13 am
But for me and probably KB is hard to see thousands of your Bajan people who you know and love and don’t try to please them and give them what they want. It’s the 5% who miserable who tend to be the vocal critics sitting down home watching tv.
February 24th, 2008 at 1:47 am
Hey Kid Site.
Completely agree with everything you say, man. Been trying to argue the same thing for the past few days both in person to anyone who’ll listen and over on the BU blog, and have been pretty much a lone voice crying in the wilderness, so it’s good to read your comments.
I just submitted a copy of one of my comments from there to the Kb Apology thread here, but it’s awaiting moderation (I’m new to this site).
Incidentally,I thought your performance was excellent. Loved those “traitor Gabby” lashes. Respect!
February 24th, 2008 at 3:58 am
It was not appropriate to refer to the PM in such a familiar way or to talk to a newly appointed Youth and Cultural Ambassador and her guest about kissing with tongue, after dragging him on stage, heckling them etc. The apology seems only to deal with the PM as opposed to making a mess of hosting our young queen on an international platform. He could have been funny, spoken Bajan or whatever without being disrespectful to everyone. (I really want to think he was drunk, really nervous or something because he is an intelligent man who has served as MC for other major events without acting like a buffoon.)
Being from the ghetto does not mean you cannot tell when circumstances warrant certain behaviour. Knowing this difference does not make you insincere. The majority of Bajans started out poor. The Rihanna story is like a Barbadian dream and exactly about people starting out modest/poor and having an impact on the world while improving their families lives.
I understand the desire to defend and support your colleague but he really messed this one up and it is OK to call it.
None of this takes away though from our love and pride for Rihanna!
February 24th, 2008 at 8:12 am
kidsite if you telling me that his behavior was appropriate, definitely something is wrong with your head, there is a time and place for everything, and that behavior was not the type of behavior fit for the occasion.
February 24th, 2008 at 8:28 am
Kidsite, what does owen have for you? He was the best prime minister babados has ever seen and no-one, no-one can walk in his footsteps no matter how hard they try.
Owen and company, thanks for redecorating bridgetown, they weren’t even shame to stand up in independence square and enjoy all of your successes.
I am so sorry that you wuk ground for monkey to parade pun. AnywaY YOU Have left a mark.
Owen you are the BEST.

February 24th, 2008 at 11:09 am
IN reply to sonypooh:
….I CAN’T REPLY CUZ HE IS NOT SAYING ANYTHING…I HAVE/HAD NO PROBLEM WITH OWEN AND IF YOU FEEL RPB WAS THE BEST CALYPSONIAN(ALTHO HE DIDN’T SING A CALYPSO)ON THE NIGHT THATS YOUR OPINION PARTNUH. i did a calypso(ONLY BOUT HERE) and a dub song (pigtails)
THAT DOESN’T BOTHER ME ONE BIT…WHEEL AND COME AGAIN
February 24th, 2008 at 11:29 am
I think i going to have to hang around about certain things and not allow West Indians to laugh at Bajans….what KB did was standard for local entertainment and it seems people wanted something different for the int’l audience….you all seem to be ashamed about BARBADIANA. Someone said that KB’s behaviour was not suited for the occasion…what was the occasion? A FREE CONCERT IN TRIBUTE TO RHI RHI IN FRONT THOUSANDS OF BAJANS.
Next time they should hold a formal show at the Hilton with $250 adm fee.
P.S: as for sonypooh what I did was not “extempo” it was a calypso and a dub song.
February 24th, 2008 at 11:39 am
in reply to sonypooh:
You so delirious in your praise for MR RPB amnd his RAGGA-SOCA that you ain listen to my lyrics in my CALYPSO, ONLY BOUT HERE on thursday night:
And I feel so proud tonite to be here for Rihanna
Cause that girl show that she is a TRUE AMBASSADOR
although the girl famous
de girl does BIGUP BARBADOS
so noone should be jealous
so where you could find people like she
(people tell me where) ONLY BOUT HERE
ONLY BOUT HERE….AND NOT ELSEWHERE
I PROUD THAT RIHANNA COME FROM ONLY BOUT HERE
February 24th, 2008 at 11:43 am
Now put my lyrics with his formula…tell me which one is stronger and more meaningful.lol.
You can be excused for getting carried away with the Pigtail Dub song…it obviously tied up people heads and yours on the night.
February 24th, 2008 at 11:47 am
BAJAN DUB is my invention since 1983 …it would always create an impact becuz Dub is the most popular genre in Barbados and doing it in a bajan style would result in explosive results
February 24th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
In response to Kid Site’s comments it is a shame to see that you are so ignorant. It is not only a matter of considering international opinion, but also that such crass behaviour was not befitting the event whether it was free, casual or an event at Sherbourne with people in tuxedos.
When individuals like yourself can condone such behaviour it is a good thing that the public outcry came from so many young people and not just older people who would just get labelled as being miserable. KB Kleen was acting in the capacity of Master of Ceremonies, not a member of the paparazzi. Rihanna brought a guest of international acclaim. Simple acknowledgement and a welcome would have sufficed not the harassment that ensued. It was out of place an detracted from the fact that we were honouring this beautiful young lady who has brought us so far. It appeared as if Mr. Kleen was more interested in her personal life than the proceedings. I am sure Rihanna did not feel that the behaviour she was subjected to, the shouts and demands of her and her guest was what wpuld have happened or she would not have brought him. I for sure would not have. She had faith in the producers of this event that her guest would have ben impressed with what Barbados had to offer. The talent was good and I was especially please with the performanaces of Mr. Dale and Richard Stoute. They chose clever ways to pay tribute to Rihanna and stuck with the theme of honouring this young lady. It seems Kid site was all about himself and getting forward from the audience. One woould have thought that a man so talented with twisting words would have thought to have a tribute song then instead of singing about pig tails. Seriously what did that have to do with anything? KB Kleen has zero sense of decorum. It is time for him to grow to hell up. If he had behaved with class and professionalism, the public would definitely have been impressed at his ability to go from being Mr. Crass in the calypso tent to Mr. Class at the concert. That is a sign of a good entertainer. One that knows the time and the place and can adjust to the situation. There are international entertainers that don’t know the time and place either and we are just as appalled at them so don’t try to sweep it under the carpet by saying that Bajans just miserable and hard to please. If you can get a bajan audience to even wave a rag you are good. Raise your standards, don’t expect us to drop ours or accept everyting that is shoved down our throats.
February 24th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
WHAT KIDSITE, LIL RICK AND SOME OF THE OTHER ENTERTAINERS NEEDED TO UNDERSTAND WAS THAT THE SHOW WAS NOT ABOUT THEM. IT WAS NOT ABOUT FINDING THE NEED TO GENERATE ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF CROWD RESPONCE WITH GIMMICKS AND SUCH. BUT RATHER TO PAY TRIBUTE TO THE SUCCESSES OF THE YOUNG BARBADIAN STAR RIHANNA. IT WAS HER NIGHT… YOU WERE THERE TO PAY TRIBUTE, NOT START A FETE…. WHAT DID PIGTAILS HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING?

So you are saying everyone should have come and just stick to honouring Rihanna….although I did the same as Dale,RPB,Richard Stoute and others and incorporated a tribute within my song. NONE OF THEM DID A TRIBUTE SONG. I JUST WENT ON further TO ENTERTAIN. I actually had rehearsed a BONAFIDE TRIBUTE SONG…but Rihanna wasn’t even there at the time so I didn’t even bother to big up her any further as LIVVY FRANC,AYANA JOHN AND BUGGY was scheduled to do rihanna’s songs.
Remember get your facts straight when you are criticising people…I DID THE SAME AS MR DALE AND RICHARD STOUTE but whereas thet did IT IN ONE SONG and I ALSO DID IT IN ONE SONG and went on further to expose another song to be released NEXT week.

yea -kidsite
i agree with yuh totally
i think kevin was dynamite
this was a happy go lucky affair
and i am sure that lots of people enjoyed it
here is my post from the other topic—kb kleen apologises
DONTALON Says:
“YEA I LOVE THE BAJAN DIALECT BUT NOT AT FORMAL EVENTS LIKE THIS…..ANOTHER NO NO…This dialect is what we gathered from our native african dialect/accent and the European accent…..a hybrid of languages…yes speak it among ourselves but not internationally when intenational press are around..another NO NO.”
—————————————————
NONSENSE !
tell that to the jamaicans who after pushing their dialect in you face for decades
have people all over the world speaking like jamaicans, dressing like jamaicans, doing their hair like jamaicans, making music like jamaicans—–check it out
for years we in barbados have been ashamed of our culture
that is why radio stations dont play our music
that is why people tell you that you are speaking badly when you speak bajan dialect
let me warn you that english is also a dialect from the north of england that has been adopted and elevated to what is called standard
check all the stupid spellings and nuances of english and we had to learn um because we were colonized by the british
February 24th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
I can’t believe what that clown DONTALON just said….should we be ashamed of our dialect? Are the cockneys in England ashamed of theirs?…ARE the TRINIS,JAMAICANS, VINCIES,GUYANESE ASHAMED OF THEIRS? tell the Trini doan talk like a Trini in front of a Trini audience becuz the world is watching.
What about the int’l rap/hip hop artistes and their street jargon and the Jamaicans?
They really have some stupidass people pon this blog yuh!

On the issue of dialect, I do not think that we should totally throw out the use of dialect either. But let us remember that in order to effectively communicate, you must be understood. What is the sense of being able to have the chance to “expose” ourselves as talented, intelligent Bajans when no one other than Bajans can understand what we are trying to say. You will notice that although Rihanna is an international star, you can still hear her Bajan inflection. At the end of the day, she can be understood. It is not completely true to say that Trinis and Jamaicans do not alter their way of speaking regardless of the occasion. I travel to these islands many times a year and trust me when I say that the Jamaican dialect that you may hear on the streets, or at dub shows is not the same dialect that you will hear when there is a Jamaican hosting a more high level affair. Same thing goes with Trinis. The tone and the inflection is there but the dialect is minimized so that EVERYONE can understand. They speak slower but say certain phrases in dialect. This does not mean that those hosts are sell-outs, just that thay understand the importance of effective communication whether you speak with a sing song voice, an English accent or the unique tone of the Bajan.
February 25th, 2008 at 4:48 pm
I must say that I am a Rihanna fan. I am so happy for her and everything that she has accomplished.
I am in shock at the responses from Kidsite on this site..I really expected better from you..I don’t know why, but I did. As a young person it has been eye opening how truly illogical and classless some people are, it greatly saddens me. Why do people try to equate Barbadians with wild , ruthless , lude and common behaviour. Do we possess no boundaries? Is everything mock sport, making fun of others in vulgar ways really the bajan way? I have to ask this, for this is not what I have witnessed in my short life.
I had no problem with KB speaking dialect, nor his hair do..that was all fine. He crossed the line with his vulgarity. This show trangressed into quite the opposite of it’s purpose. Instead of this event being cherished as an event to praise Rihanna and leave her feeling fussy and happy..she was left embarassed, Chris Brown was embarrassed..and now she has even more stress to deal with the stupid accusations about her relationship status which is her business. You should feel most comfortable at home…Why is this impossible?
In the end what you are not seeing is that..Rihanna should not have felt uncomfortable and that is exactly what happened. First of all it was the event planners fault for choosing KB clean to do this show, there are numerous Barbadians that would have done a a much better job without marring the event. On a final note, Lil Rick’s behaviour was rediculous…there is a time and a place for everything.
February 25th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
I meant to say “lewd” and ps. Kidsite although I disagree with your opinion, as everyone has the right to their own opinion..I still enjoy your music.
February 25th, 2008 at 5:27 pm

February 26th, 2008 at 2:49 am
Very very sensitive people here ….almost bordering on psychotic…even when i used the former PM’s name in respect of how they castigated and tried to damage Wickham’s credibility and THEN refused to apologise you all refused to see the argument and instead get sensitive because i used his name.
The rest of the West Indian are all always saying Bajans don’t understand/appreciate their culture, themselves and West Indian artforms and yet you are proving it all over again on this BLOG.
RAINBABY IS SO PROTECTIVE OF POOR LITTLE CHRIS BROWN, HE WANTED TO GO UNNOTICED…THAT’S SO CUTE.
PROUDBAJAN NEXT TIME I WILL TRY HARD TO NOT TO GO AGAINST THE HISTORICAL PASSIVE, CONSERVATIVE, CLASS ORIENTED,INSECURE BAJAN SLAVE MENTALITY AND CONDONE ALL SUPPOSEDLY LEWD WILD WUTHLESS COMMON CLASS BEHAVIOUR OF KB KLEEN.
February 26th, 2008 at 10:54 am
what the @#*# is wrong with you ppl KB did apologise that is what you want and you get it so , what is the big fuss now. Then you want to start on kidsite on his proformance what he did wrong now did he
call the PM by his first name too you ppl need a reality check and stop b#*@# about certain things that all ready happen and take time to

February 26th, 2008 at 11:36 am

talk bout that now kidsite
February 26th, 2008 at 11:45 am
Both hosts on stage had me shocked not one could tell the other come back…..actually as I scratch my head thinking back, one was a mere echo of the other with “yeah, yeah” and “fer real” and “yah know, yeah yeah” absolutely HILARIOUS!! The other was just a loose canon drunk on his own self adulation-that he knows the PM, supposedly knows Rihanna and that he himself went to Combermere…..the man even brought out his daughter “in concert” yet crushed the dreams of the little girl with the rose who probably recited and practised all day what she was gonna say when she presented it. You sure he was not high or drunk like the first bajan grammy winner? I continue to scratch my head as I wonder if his buddy will permit this comment on his site??
February 26th, 2008 at 3:01 pm
iN REPLY TO RAINBABY:
i understand NOW.. it will be shown in the MIGHTY UNITED STATES OF AMERICA so we must be on our p’s and q’s…..IM SORRY IF I DON’T HAVE THE SAME REVERENCE FOR THE “STATES” AS YOU DO….i reserve that kind of respect for the ALMIGHTY…not for a arrogant country with a wicked system.
i UNDERSTAND NOW….KB should not have let the paparazzi know (as if they didn’t) that Chris Brown was there and he shouldn’t imply as to no connection with RHIANNA (AS IF THEY STILL WOULDN’T)….SO PROTECTIVE of these mega-rich stars. Don’t you think that being mega-rich and world famous wouldn’t threaten one’s privacy though? Comes with the territory.
February 26th, 2008 at 4:38 pm
1-Kid site stop being an Asshol*…i dont have no reverence for the states caws i never went there yet in my 22ys on earth..i agree with you about reserving that respect for the ALMIGHTY
2-Its not that he shudnt have let any one no chris was here but dem aint want every one in them business..
3-Kid site stop playing the part of an As*…
February 26th, 2008 at 8:17 pm
i now realise u are only 22 and you are resorting to profanity to make your point….so i will politely agree to disagree before you curse me any further.
February 26th, 2008 at 8:23 pm
AND AS FOR Chris Brown…the int’l press ALREADY in their business if u check the websites…they are not waiting for KB to do they work for them….whether he implied it or not they were already up in their business…as i said it goes with the territory.
February 27th, 2008 at 11:10 am
Is it the place of a master of ceremonies to harass patrons and demand to know their business then? It is only obvious that Chris Brown would have been recognized and that the media would have been in a frenzy, with their own opinions and assumptions. I think KB was out of place and it was not a matter of deference to the States . I did not get the impression that anyone was trying to say that Bajans were upset because of any reverence to the states. Why does everything have to be that we are ashamed or that we think people from the States better than us simply because we found someone’s behaviour distasteful for a particular EVENT. Some Bajans are simply glad of the opportunity to showcase what we have in the best light possible and with respect, period. If Chris Brown was not there and in my opinion KB still behaved like a classless fool for whatever reason, my reaction would be the same. There is a time and a place for everything. Just because hardly anybody wants to hear Kid Site sing anything unless it is for a calypso competition, does not mean we do not appreciate Barbadiana, we just have no obligation to appreciate all Barbadiana if it is not to one’s taste.
February 27th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Kid site i aint curse you… i aint no you but i respect ya as a person and a great entertainer…Good luck fa 2k8 in pic a d crop…
PS:Stay out a party Monarch tho that a different Jonra(spelt incorrect i no i no)
February 27th, 2008 at 7:50 pm
The thing is they have me labelled as a calypsonian and it was a dub song that cause havoc….wonder if Mr Lew in his rush to insult me ever realise i sing RIGHT THRU the year unlike many artists that are only heard at CropOver? I was in Holetown,Wed and Ind Square Thur and engagements next week. And wonder if people also realise KB has engagements right throughout the year also and NOT ONLY at Crop Over.
You are all really have to stop with this narrowminded stereotype pigeonhole type views.

Da got that poor girl name ringing but the lil white F8cks gotta hate caws them can get the so called chris Brow, white girls so dumb..stupse..i read those comments and some are so nasty then..wtf..Men hating pun a Bajan girl then
February 29th, 2008 at 5:32 pm
I am not in any rush to insult you and I am female by the way. I don’t even realize when you sing at Crop Over so I would be oblivious to when you perform otherwise. The few times I have watched you perform, I was not captivated whether you sang dub or calypso. This is my personal opinion. You don’t impress me. If I ask ten people in my office what you sang last year and when you last you performed they would be like, uuuh?!!!!If that makes me narrow-minded, so be it. I surely will not lose any sleep. I am sure you have a good enough following and that is good for them and good for you. Not everyone will appreciate you and what you do, no matter how often and no matter the season. To be honest, I have surveyed people young and old and not one of them was impressed by you nor has ever been. Hmm. Maybe my survey was too narrow but I don’t have time to waste asking about you. You are in my opinion overly sensitive and think that anyone who does not want to hear you has a problem. I wonder how many people would turn up if there was a Kid Site in concert at a venue that could hold 3,000 on the same night as Machel in concert in Barbados. Hmmm. Maybe that should be my next survey.
February 29th, 2008 at 7:40 pm
Just having fun on this blog…can’t be an entertainer in Bim and be overly sensitive…wouldn’t last too long. Just like to tease you all and wheras I can’t or wouldn’t waste time putting you down or conducting surveys I still wish the best for you sweetheart. Thank you for comparing me with Machel…didn’t even know we are in the same genres….Im quite pleased where i am today though…God has blessed me tremendously and I have no desire to be so successful in today’s entertainment world.

Just checked out de link. Them is some crazy @/#&!@$.
March 4th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
Rihanna can’t sing! She’s just a pretty face! I’m sure there’s better talent in Barbados. I’m sure you all actually have young girls with voices or with beauty and talent not just beauty. We actually have talent here in Trinidad.
March 5th, 2008 at 9:51 am
kidsite Says:
February 24th, 2008 at 3:10 pm
So you are saying everyone should have come and just stick to honouring Rihanna.
That is EXACTLY what most people are saying. It was a tribute concert for Rihanna and about Rihanna. Trust me that would have been more than sufficient to entertain and delight the crowd there (I was there) as most of them were there for the same thing - to big up our girl. Did you hear the roar when she sailed in? THAT is what it was about, not about entertainers using the occasion as an opportunity for promotion of their own to-be-released song and agenda.
As to your other comment:
…Although I did the same as Dale,RPB,Richard Stoute and others and incorporated a tribute within my song. NONE OF THEM DID A TRIBUTE SONG. I JUST WENT ON further TO ENTERTAIN.
You did not NEED to go on any further to entertain. You seem to have some warped idea of what Bajans need to be entertained. We are entertained according to the occasion and this occasion was about Rihanna so a simple tribute to her (which you did quite wonderfully in your first song) was more than enough.
Btw- I resent the comment about the majority of Harrisonians being stuck up and pretending to be better off. I went to Kolij and I’m neither - furthermore, the vast majority of people I went to school with were not, though there was a stuck up minority. Why do Harrisonians always seem to want to have to ‘apologise’ for being what we are by saying ‘oh the rest of them stuck up fuh trute- but not me!’ Why can’t we just be proud to be Harrisonians dammit!
As to Proud Trini - nice to hear that you “actually have talent in Trinidad”. Any international record deals yet? Any Grammys? How’s that working out for ya?
March 5th, 2008 at 9:53 am
Proud Trini-she doesnt sound good ta u?
fa sure there are more young ladies & men with lots of talent that’s not being recognized
all over has talent but it has to be recognized by some one in a higher music profession…
March 5th, 2008 at 10:26 am
Out of curiosity, who are the recognized talents from Trinidad that are comparable at least as success goes to Rihanna? I agree that she is no Alicia Keys, mind you but at the end of the day she is doing her thing and it is working for her. Haters will hate regardless.
March 5th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
You did not NEED to go on any further to entertain. You seem to have some warped idea of what Bajans need to be entertained. We are entertained according to the occasion and this occasion was about Rihanna so a simple tribute to her (which you did quite wonderfully in your first song) was more than enough.
Proud Harrisonian that was not the feedback i got from the hundreds of Bajan at the show and the many who watched it home on TV. Speak for yourself and your crew.
Rihanna is not God….please stop trying to give her the reverence, attention and respect you should give God. This is bordering on worshipping her. She was respected at the show and honoured. THe int’l coverage even STATED that….to go on and on sounds like hero-worshipping.
March 5th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
I happen to think Kid Site is one of the most brilliant lyricists anywhere. He’s a Harrisonian (I’m not one by the way) and its shows and his pig tail song was wonderfully creative, but I agree it was NOT suited to that show. By the way, I suggest some folks go back and listen to some of the earlier songs from Lil Rick and Eric Lewis. Pure bajan poetry. And this from someone who isn’t a fan of bashment soca, at all, but pure art I can appreciate. I don’t know where Lil Ric went to school, but judging from his talent he could”ve gone anywhere he wanted to with the right focus.
Also I love the Trinis but admit it, Rihanna is the biggest thing to happen to this region musically since Bob Marley (if there was anyone in between correct me). Maybe not the greatest singer that ever lived admittedly, but neither are many of the top stars in the world today or even yesterday. Bob Dillon can barely talk far less sing. Its about the total marketing package and she’s got it. By the way don’t tell me Iwer George can sing.
Point is we”ve got great potential all across the Caribbean, but its about opportunity right? She got hers and grasped it. I think Barbados with the right cultural focus going forward can do a lot with the talent that we have that I really think needs to be shaped and focussed toward bigger things. (There were previously too many people in charge of Crop Over who actually hated anything like that) Some of our best talents are too inwardly focussed and because of their influence it is guiding the industry in directions that do not maximise the potential. But pound for pound, with some needed polishing, hard to beat the Bajans.
And KB you goofed a bit, OK maybe more than a bit, but remember Barbados can turn on you in a flash. But I”m sure you”ll learn from it.
March 5th, 2008 at 5:45 pm
And by the way I thought Richard Stoute was one of the toasts of the evening for his presentation and didn”t get enough credit.
March 5th, 2008 at 8:11 pm
i think that rhianna and chris make a lovely couple and don’t matter people say enjoy life bacause u can only live once. so please if u alll is to be together the lord will help u all through, give thanks to god that both of u all find each other. i’m happy for you rhianna and chris have a ball.
March 8th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
trini !
commercial success in music has little to do with being able to sing
its about gimmick
if you cant sing or if you dont sing has liitle to do with success
you former colonial people always go on with this thing about comparisons
about who is the best and all that crap
music is about entertainment —dont forget that !
there are many good singers who are in the subways, in bedrooms, bars and on the streets–if it were about singing only -these people would be up there
rihanna has it !
and all the crap that you and people got to say cant tek it from her
keep yuh talent in trinidad
what de frig has trinidad done ?
arrow had to big up soca
an all-yuh criticize him
jealous !

Well if ‘the man’ from UWI says its OK in the Sunday Sun ……then all is well. I will be sure to write on all the International blogs that ‘UWI man said it’s OK’ . That will fix everything because….He is not one of the persons who could not make it in school and turned to entertainment……
Please…… That was not Barbadian it was just a bad MC… nothing to do with our culture….I wondered how much free drink was backstage….
All that happened is that International coverage only mentioned her and not any one else on the show except for the prime minister. It will be intresting to see if BET works in any of the performances…. I also has persons contact me to laugh at parts of the event…. very sad.. I felt like I was watching a train wreck….
In regards to Pig tales or tails….. There are not too many chances for Barbadian artists to be heard and I commend those who went out there and promoted their music.. that is what the event was to be about as well. BELIEVE in your self, Kid site has always performed funny dubs and crop over tunes, did we expect him to sing Umbrella? He was put on the show to do his thing and did it. Smart move, my kids are all singing pig tails…
March 13th, 2008 at 2:06 am
no bad mc
k b was IN HIS ELEMENT
WE ARE ASHAMED OF
BAJAN DIALECT
BLACK BAJAN HAIR
BLACK BAJAN SKIN
BAJAN FOOD—we scorn breadfruit and import junkfood
BAJAN TUK BAND
BAJAN INDiGENOUS MUSIC—’SPOOGE ‘—(MY SPELLING)
BAJAN ENTERTAINERS
BAJAN ARCHITECTURE
BAJAN PRODUCED GOODS-not now as much as in the past
BAJAN HEROES–jackie opel ; suki king; sir garfield sobers–(do you remember the foolish jokes)
BAJAN CALYPSO–(NOT NOW -so much as in the past -changed in the 80s–gabby’s jack ; grynner’s songs
BAJAN STEELBAND–riducled in the past -also in trinidad and tobago
BAJAN TOYS–the scooter we made is now packaged and sold to us for profit
BAJAN PEOPLE -we categorised them according to social class, schol attended, who you father is,
we are still very much in mental slavery where our confidence is so badly undermined that there is a serious problem with acceptance of our selves
we immediately believe that everybody from outside is better than us so we change our accent when we speak to americans or english because we feel they are better than us so we must bow to them
all of this forms the basis of the reaction that we see coming forward to such things as an mc onstage speaking bajan and have a good time -we cant it
wake up people !
March 14th, 2008 at 7:37 pm
Bajan does not equal brawling!! Too many brawling bajans think so.
Concert issues:
1. poor organization
2. crazy first grammy award winning lunatic on stage! Who let him on. In the morning, when he is sober he would be so embarrassed and wondering why no one stopped him.
3. Lil Rick. I think he is a genius but when his feelings get hurt he cannot seem to control himself. perhaps he should have gone to the rehearsals.
4. Hurricane… couldn’t she have helped out her cohost a little.
5. KB
The worst thing is that hadn’t he harassed the guest of honour and her guest and call the Prime Minister David, no one would have recognized how inappropriate his performance really was altogether. I was shocked even before it got to that stage and it is surprising that others only saw the PM and Rihanna faux pas.
6. I think the organizers should have apologized even moreso than KB. They left him to face the music for something that was really their responsibility. They must have been too glad for the decoy.
Kid Site, when so many people are upset about something even though you are not, you must wonder if they have a point. I have been in a situation myself when I experienced a public outcry against something I saw no harm in. I then had to acquiesce that perhaps I should have been wiser.
March 19th, 2008 at 1:07 pm
hey site ?
i want you to respond to the above post from carolyn
March 19th, 2008 at 6:36 pm

Rainbaby say so..who got sain ta sa say it…
March 21st, 2008 at 7:50 pm
rainbaby
do you want to rain on people’s parade or what ?
its no use talking about the subject and just shutting up
talk and more talk should lead to action
while i can understand that you would be tired of talking about the subject , the idea of dropping it and moving on shows that we dont want to really deal with it in a serious way
i think a statement should be made –a strong statement
what say ye ?
March 23rd, 2008 at 10:02 am
Asiba…I move on from this foolishness..i have never heard so much outcry re a show before…sounds strangely political. This girl Carolyn says a lot of people are upset….i am not hearing them…all i am hearing is people coming up to me congratulationg me for entertaining them and engagements every weekend.
I was never an entertainer happy with polite applause like Richard Stoute or Plastic Bag. The day i accept that i would retire…i thrive on being controversial, abrasive and aggressive at times. I like to keep it real and sing reality.I am celebrating 25 years this year and used the opportunity to promote myself and entertain my people.More to come.
Rihanna is not GOD and if you feel this show bothered her or is bothering HER you all should get a life. If the show is still bothering you you need to examine your life. Time to move on…i have done many shows since then and all the people want from me is PIGTAILS. If i had to do it i would do say thing again or WORSE. I DON’T REGRET NOTHING. I love and respect Rihanna but SHE IS NOT GOD.
March 23rd, 2008 at 4:53 pm
i agree wid yuh site -with the comments
however, i dont think yuh should just move on –this talk should lead to something or else people like rainbaby that talking (expletive deleted) will not have learned. they need to be educated so TO MY MIND, this episode should be used as fuel to start some forum to educate these folks who do not know better. if these people are not taught they will repeat the same (expletive deleted) talk again.
maybe a platform , other than the stage , should be set up somewhere to preach to these people
i am calling on the government to introduce –adult education— to educate these people about their culture , their history , e.t.c
this is serious man ! we cant just talk every time something happens and just leave it there. those who have the information should seek to pass it on AND MAKE THE TALK REALLY COUNT
there are too many ignorant people in barbados–far too many
this can later translate into social problems. we cannot HAVE so many ignorant people walking around.
ignorance leads to all kinds of assumptions and foolish actions
action to ward off ignorance is required NOW !
March 23rd, 2008 at 4:56 pm
BOTH RAINBABY AND CAROLYN need to be taught along with all the others
is this the carolyn we know ?
there is a hint somewhere in her comments that she has been on the stage so maybe it is
March 23rd, 2008 at 7:47 pm
the problem is ASSIBA…they are shame of their own culture and don’t even realise it. But you and I know the history of Barbados and the cultural suppression that was stronger and more present than ANY of the other West Indian islands….yet the West African influence is so strong and STILL our people shame of it.
It is there in our dialect, our food, our mannerisms and yet we want to pander to the Black American and THEIR CULTURE WHEN THE TRUTH IS THEY WERE EVEN MORE SUPPRESSED THAN THE BLACK WEST INDIAN.
It was Marcus Garvey who opened up the Black Americans eyes and it was Bob Marley who called them BUFFALO SOLDIERS…FIGHTING FOR THE HONOUR OF THEIR WHITE OPPRESSORS AND THEY STILL DOING IT IN IRAQ FORGETTING THAT MUHAMMED ALI STOOD UP AGAINST THE SAME TYPE OF WAR IN VIETNAM.
yet foolish Bajans on this blog worrying about what the Americans think…you all better start caring about what GOD thinks.
March 23rd, 2008 at 8:01 pm
AND let me educate my friends on this blog: WHENEVER YOU GO ON STAGE AS AN ENTERTAINER TO PERFORM YOU MUST PROMOTE YOURSELF. THE ONLY TIME THIS IS NOT APPLICABLE IS IF YOU ARE GIVING GLORY TO THE ALMIGHTY…CAUSE WITHOUT HIM YOU ARE NOTHING. IF PEOPLE WANT TO WORSHIP RIHANNA AS A GOD, YOU SHOULD NOT INDULGE IN THAT BEHAVIOUR CAUSE IT WILL MAKE THE ALMIGHTY GOD ANGRY WITH YOU.

why ?
people in barbados talk too much but seem to only talk
laziness ?=======yes
fear ? =========yes
brainwashed=====yes
that is why nuttin happens
as soon as you talk action people take three steps back and say the same thing you are saying –just as the slaves and later the civil servants and the citizens did -”let it rest” –
let it rest what , let it rest my foot
that is why the merchants continue to raise prices in barbados because people say
let it rest-you cant eat the money
that is why land prices continue to climb because people are saying let it rest -you cant do nuttin bout um
that is why minibuses and zr vans continue to play vulgar non barbados music without regard to passengers ——let it rest
do nuttin
that is why barbados radio stations and televisions stations do not play and promote bajan music—-let it rest
that is why women teachers in barbados failed to teach our boys properly-as soon as the boys give a little trouble the women give up –let it rests
do nothing
that is why people in barbados continue to get fatter and fatter putting strain on our health care facilities because they overeat and let it rest
they rest too much and grow fatter and fatter-do nothing—–no exercise, dont go to the beach , do dont nothing——-just let it rests
whenever it comes to doooo–ing–we back down and say ==let it rest
when it comes to action
we say -let it rest and that is why we continue to live in perpetual slavery controlled by people who do not like us and politicians who are corrupt and who look for themselves only because we choose to————–
let it rest
so rainbaby i am not surprised at you
i guarantee you that i have devoted my life to not letting it rest and i will not let it rest
let it rest my —- !

Well asiba i agree wid you on some of the things you have said but honestly what do you want to come put of this show that was done for Rihanna?? that’s my main question..
.everything u have said i agree wid 100% except the teachers part because if i was a teacher at one of these schools hay in Bim and i was trying wid a student Male or Female and them wanted to be own way and stubborn and still not trying to do something for themselves well i very sorry but i tink i to would give up,when you mention the teachers you gotta mentions parents as wellcaws no teacher should have to try with a child tatst he parents role..but that in itself is a different topic..

the simple fact that, this pretty face little angel Rhianna is dating Chris Brown is bothering me to a great degree, what is she doing with him, what is he doing in our sweet little Barbados under her arm pit. Don’t get me wrong i like Chris Brown , but i like him better with out Rhianna. Some where in Bim Some boy is hurting , because orf Rhianna actions…don’t tell me that she didn’t leave some poor little boy on the island who was in love with her…this boy that used to bring her ackees, pelt rocks at mangoes for she, walk she to the bread shop at night, what happened to him…everybody takling about Chris Brown what about that poor little fellow….had Rhianna trip to America not being so successful, will there be a Chris Brown i nher life…may be ..Christopher Brown..Daphne Brown grand son from Black Rock..not from the States…Rhianna i urged you to return home for that poor boy…or simply have him accompany you back to the States…why not……if the claim that you and Cris Brown are only friends…take him along with you too……….besides all that….keep[ up the good work, we know for sure that you will definetely continue to makes us Bajans proud, in one ofyour songs you said you are a murderer… indeed you are you are murdering that poor bajan fella you left behing …who ever he is….we love you and will continue to but we will love you more if you have a bajan under your UMBRELLA.

I live in the states, as a matter of fact, Florida. I want to comment on Bernard Says: It doesn’t matter where you from when it comes to meeting people as long as they know how to treat and respect one another, whether it’s Barbados or the United States. You seem quite proud to be bajan and rightfully so, but you don’t know Rhianna personally. Why would you suggest she look for a bajan over the person she invited to meet her parents?
Obviously Rhianna wanted a friend from the U.S to visit her parents and to show that friend her country. I’m sure Chris Brown appreciate it because it might be the first time he’s been to the Caribbean. It is offensive to make the comments you made.
Rhianna would not have invited him to meet her parents if she didn’t respect him .
I believe Chris has added to her life. She seem very happy and truly in love with him because they enjoy each other company and are inseparable. You can’t ask for anything better than that.

Bernard
You probably don’t know Rihanna personally so why are you speculating about whether she had a bajan boyfriend that she left behind?. Shut up and worry about your own love life.
