If you Can’t wait for Crop Over 2008 you will love this Lil Rick music video.
“Can’t Wait” features the energetic Lil Rick, curvacious females and vibrant kadoment costumes to get you in the mood for the coming Crop Over season.
It is also noteworthy the our national colours are seen through out, a reminder that in addition to Rihanna we have other local artistes that promote Barbados as well.

LIL RICK NEEDS TO SIT DOWN, cause his music is awful. i like his collaborations with alison and square one, other than that he does nuffin to soothe my eardrums.
the video is awful and the song too. HOW DID HE WIN PARTY MONARCH WITH THAT MESS?
BARRY CHANDLER WITH CRAZY PEOPLE OR KHIOMAL WITH BASHMENT BACCHANAL SHOULD HAVE WON.

I am a Bajan who never paid enough attention to the lyrics of calypsos until I was an adult. In fact, my family and friends still laughed at me because I can’t repeat two lines of even the most popular ones. I wanted to change this recently and decided to check the Internet for some of the lyrics and came up blank. Did you ever try?
Caan Wait
Calypsonians did so much for this country
And little was done to preserve their artistry
All the past works are lost away
None of them accessible for me today
When I tried searching for lyrics online
A lots of foreign rubbish is all I could find
I abandoned my search but now I investigate
Time will change it all and I Caan Wait

Lil Rick is happy to jump and his back ground dancers are happy to wind as they exclaimed their anxiety about waiting. I am not sure what mix messages we are giving with this since, the same people who scream out their anxieties are prepared to go into the local bill collection entities on the island and wait with inhumane tolerance.
Can’t Wait
Christianity says be anxious for nothing
And yet all we seem to do nowadays is waiting
No matter what lil Rick would say
The Bajans wait and wait and wait everyday
When Bajans stand in line to pay their bills
All them stay quiet, no fuss no frills
I find it unbelievable with all the slow clerks
This country doesn’t shutdown soon cause nothing works

A lyrics website for calypso is a must…its something that could soon be forthcoming…the truth is calypso is an artform that is older than must existing genres and like some older people it has not adapted to newer technology as swift as the younger ones.
Please do not confuse CAHN WAIT as a calypso though, this is more like a soca or partysong…In Barbados there are lot of people who don’t know the difference between a calypso and a soca/party song.I made Party Monarch Finals with an uptempo calypso last year but it was not a soca/partysong…on other occasions i have made it with a soca/partysong even a chutneysoca on one occasion!
Biggie Ire won the International Groovy Soca Monarch In Trinidad last year with a ragga soca song. This segment of the show was specifically created for that genre…previously Adrian Clarke made the then only International Soca Monarch Finals with Nice Time in 1996 and myself with Fat Girl Wine in 1997
