Serving a bajan accented breakfast without Bakes is totally unacceptable. If we are going to prepare and serve bajan breakfast then my only suggestion is to do it the right way, bakes must be leading the menu. Yes! i must admit the average person believes it's a poor man's meal....but what is the criteria of a poor man's meal? Just because we are talking of merely flour, sugar and water doesn't mean it should bee absent from the menu. Bakes are very appealing at breakfast time especially when being served from an enamel bowl and it wouldnt hurt for the bowl to have a bounce on the side either, I mean we are talking tradition here...lets do it the right way.......please don't deprive me of the true essence and served me a bake on crystal ware...i simply don't want it. Yes people say it's not healthy dis and dat, but i have never heard a doctor told any one to stay off the Bakes . 99% of we bajans were raised on the flour substance it wasn't a complaint back then, the only complaint that surfaced was when a man say WAit! "all de bakes gone already"I remembered how happy I would get ,when a full served meal was substituted for bakes ...ya kiddn me...man i love the bake don't mentioned if the rim was a little burned........i would have negotiated any thing just to hear the crunch on my molars..... please Keeep the bakes on the TABLE

Man they ain't nuttin that taste as good as bakes for breakfast. However as much as we hate to admiit it, bakes are considered "low class" food. That is why you will never see it at a bigup corporate event.
