I understand your responses. After all, you make your living by making noise. Meanwhile, check your hearing.

I am not bothered by 'noise' at night. I live in a quiet area and keep the tv on when I sleep. I welcome sounds. Come cropover, I will go where the parties go til morning. Never liked the Gap much anyways.

On the other hand I work in entertainment, love to hear music, the ocean and kids laughing and see noise laws as something long needed in Barbados.
I can tell you our story
We were tortured for years by our neighbors dogs, talking, the police, mediators, RSPCA, Animal control all tried to talk every thing we could do was no help. You could not even speak on one entire side of our house with out 5 dogs all barking louder than you could speak. any noise, leaf drop, person on street, car, bird, tv, radio, laughter would set them off. all day and night. This had gone on for over 20 years with our grandfather dying in the same bed room complaining about the dogs. The neighbours were aware of all of this but made no move to do any thing at all to quiet the dogs. What finally fixed it was a very expensive sonic machine that needs 50 dollars worth of batteries every 6 weeks. Hmmmm.
Across the street a restaurant (who is really a bar / club) opened and would keep very loud noise all night regardless of neighbors and families in area. My sons bed in near the road and he can not sleep on many nights and is an honor roll student at Cawmere... Will this become the new destination for the drunken partier at 3 am, more cursing and shouting in the street and some one lost money, talked to another's girl or just is drunk? HMMMM
If you have never had long periods where you can not sleep because of other persons don't careish ways then you would see Carl Moore as a bad dude. Lack of sleep can throw off your entire body and mind in very strange ways causing you to feel very tired, aggressive, depressed, and other symptoms, there is lots of medical proof on the negative effects of consistent sleep disturbance.
It is amazing to me how selfish persons making consistent noise can be. Some of those clubs will have only 20 people or less and still be blasting the music all night.

I did not hear any complaints of Bacchanal time keep neighbors up or any tent for that matter. Even when big events happen at stadium no one has school the next day.

There is a simple lack for basic personal rights in BDS that is at the base of this issue. Its the same thing that makes persons feel they can curse loud at play grounds, childrens fairs, public or call women very crass names in front of their children when you might be innocently walking by a group. Even mechanics who work late at night, the church up the road who feels that every one for 2 miles needs to hear their band from 7 am - 10 am on Sunday morning because they are playing religious music and if you do not want to hear it then you must need saving. HMMMM

I did not know that BDS was being sold as a wild party all night destination, if any thing we are sold as a quite, reserved, safe and friendly place. The advertising is all about dinner, beach, sailing, horses, sports with couples dancing together in the moon light (soon on their way to bed to be up for sailing the next morning). Most persons have been working and are looking forward to a quite rest in an family members home or an expensive hotel in a top class destination.

Are events going to start earlier so the patrons still get their full fete, or will we have to pay the same price for a cut down show?

I find this move..well..ignorant..in the sense of not knowing
not knowing that we as BAJANs does don't lan in the dub, the fete, the party, the club the jam, etc until a certain late hour such as around 12 or 1 am in the morning. Usually on my jounreys through "The Gap" $15,$20 is usually my admittance to cetain events and two hours of partying of ($10 a hour approx.) ain't exactly wukkin for me. ( Especially since i have to catch public transportation and the first bus is 5 o' clock..wuh i gin do fuh 2 extra non-partying hours) hmm?
($20 plus my $6 bus fare :S)

P.S. i can only speak for my age range which is 18-25 in terms of what time we get to events

looka life :P

"that not only the gap has nightclubs but also have resident house holds and hotels who obviously don’t appreciate blaring music up to 4 in the morning when people are trying to sleep"

I'm not exactly certain the ratio of reidental homes and hotels to the amount of bar, pubs, clubs, (dubs?) there is in "the Gap", nor the amount of people and although this may seem harsh..more people pass through "the Gap" bring their money and helping those people who owrk there to maintain A LIFE..you know like families and such..telling a lcub to turn msic off before the time its partrons are ready to leave(usually), meaning no more drinks being bought, less money being made (LESS DRINKSS NOOO!!), that's like me convincing your employer to stop paying you as much because of hte money he'll save.. so frankly suck up and get on with it its been happenin fuh years think you'd get accustomed to it by now..
