They are relatively cheap and easy to make. I love them but I have not had them in years as I live in Canada and my wife is a Jamaican so the closest I get to bakes is something they call "festival" or another thing called "johnny cakes". I ain't no Johnny! ha ha Unfortunately nowadays bajans look down on bakes as low class food.
