Walter Maloney talking bare C***

good-crowd-dancing

If it was up to Walter Maloney Face Book peeps and all Barbados would have to stop all that stupid partying and wukking up that you been doing and staying home and focusing on your bills.

I could hardly believe my eyes when I read the headline.

National Union of Public Workers President Walter Maloney wants to stop all feting and shows in Barbados because of the economic conditions;

So Reggae on the Hill want calling off, Teshia needs to stop Fantasy Fridays and Stephanie chase and Nelly done away with all those fetes and beauty pageants.

The NUPW President is crying shame on entertainment promoters and the wasteful activities they are engaged in.

What is the aim of having these shows? He asks

“What is the case for having reggae this Calypso that?”

“What does it prove dancing? It is not going to help the country”

I don’t recall last time I heard some one make such entertainment ignorant statements.

What Maloney is talking It reminds me of a four letter word starting with c, bare c***

As the President of a workers union, he does not realise all the people he is seeking to put out of work.

At shows not only entertainers are employed but also security guards, backstage crews and food and drink personnel.

Boutiques benefit from increased clothing sales, Radio and Television benefits from increased advertising revenue. More money is injected into the economy.

Maloney wants to know what purpose that dancing serves, how does it help pay your bills? Soon he will ask what purpose does watching TV serve?

All the television watchers Chantelle, Fenelle need to throw their TVs outside. No more “Criminal Minds” for you Bobby, does watching that help pay your bills?

If Maloney look at those people who let losing their jobs and mortgages get to them and then end up shooting themselves and their families, he would see why it is good to get out and relax every once in a while.

So if you want to go out and enjoy Beanie man, the Marley’s, Krosfyah, Jon Doe and Indian, who the ass is Walter Maloney to stop you?

In a nut shell Maloney’s statements are financially reckless and culturally flawed, or as we would say, he talking bare c***!

*Crap;

    so are we all supposed to sit at home with just a candle burning for light and be miserable until the recession is over?

    I for one would have to stop my voluntary community work, I would be out of a job and two of my hobbies.

    This man is just another example of why entertainment as a career and the cultural industries as a concept are both taking so long to come into reality. Persons in the arts are not seen as having “real jobs”.

    Just like the dumb f*** who going take a perfectly good theatre shell and turn it into offices while masterfully taking a 4-wall ruin and making THAT into another theatre… kinda backwards thinking in my book.

    f*** = fool.

    Walter Maloney need to go into a fete and get wuk up pun that is what!! Or he lacking from S_X maybe he is impotent who knows but how are people who work in the entertainment industry supposed to survive if there is no entertainment. This is no hobby for me Mr. Maloney – this is my life and what I enjoy doing. I love teaching about the arts I love taking my students to watch LIVE PLAYS (which by the way are very costly to produce – kudos to LAFF-IT-OFF PRODUCTIONS for keeping the Satire coming year after year) I enjoy when entertainers can come to my secondary school and interact with my students, share their stories about hardships & how they wouldnt have it any other way, I love the fact that we have costmetology & barbering at THE GARRISON SECONDARY SCHOOL because regardless of whether you broke or rich you need to look decent. EVERYBODY CANT BE A LAWYER OR DOCTORS.

    Who dares to sing about the issues plaguing society – THE REGGAE SINGERS, THE CALYPSONIANS. Who captures the vivid scenes of poverty & anger among the masses – THE PLAYWRIGHTS THE POETS, who reenacts the stupidity of government – THE ACTORS Press on IRON SHARPEN IRON, NIGHT OF THE GRIOTS,

    Without Entertainment there would be no cultural diversity we would just have a bundle of people sprouting propaganda bout the place

    Stupes

    Regardless of the economic crisis people need to release their stress and they should not have to stay home looking at the bills 24/7 that is why that man in the USA shoot his wife, 5 kids then himself because of the economic crisis. I will forever post my pics and go around following events I enjoy and the people who cant get out get to feel as though they were there THANKS TO FACEBOOK & other friendster networks

    I totally agree with you guys bout this man Maloney talking bare c@*t! I grew up hearing from my parents that you need to become a doctor, or a lawyer…because it is what the people considered a real job!

    This is so not true! Entertainment is LIFE…in all forms! Whether it be a poet, a comedian, a singer, a songwriter, an actor/actress, film director, etc. These are all forms of legal income, which also assist in relieving stress!

    Thanks to all the Promoters, Artistes, Actors/Actresses, Poets, Song Writers, etc. for allowing us to be able to express ourselves!!!

    Mr. Maloney, if you cannot think of anything positive to say…BE QUIET PLEASE!!!

    de man want all wunnah heathens so to guh church. all dat fete money cud guh in a collection plate instead a gine in promoters pockets :-)

    all jokes aside in a recession people looking for a release and escape so fetes, and other entertainment probably going to not see much of a decrease in revenues but i’m guessing Maloneys point is if money tight cut back, excercise prudence, stick to the necessities and dont spend frivolously. he could just have easily said get ridda all dat satellite tv and juss watch channel 9 or something so too

    This highlights that Barbados is a very snobby society when it comes to education and jobs. We worship doctors, lawyers, managers, accountants, etc (and there is nothing wrong with aspiring to be one of them) but we look down on other jobs such as tradesmen, fishermen, promoters and entertainers. Anything to do with culture and entertainment shows is considered a joke and not serious entrepreurial ventures.

    Walter Maloney is indeed talking @#%@#$@#. Peter you have made solid points on the contribution of promoters to the economy.

    He better don’t talk about my cinemas and movies…..LOL
