Believe it or not today 29th August is Michael Jackson’s Birthday!

What I find strange is there is no mention of it on the MSN home page, I discovered it reading an obscure article on BBC Mobile.
It does not seem as much attention is being paid to Jackson as say Maddona who celebrated her 50th last week and it was all over the media.
So while the main stream media seems to be ignoring MJ he still has a friend in Boyce Voice we as are heralding his half century birthday achievement.

Lets focus on the positive contributions he has made, his top selling album “Thriller” which sold over 65 million copies world wide according to the Guinness book or records

The 14 minute ground breaking cutting edge “Thriller” video which revolutionized the music video industry.

You know sometimes you meet some one you have not seen for a while and they’ve changed so dramatically you almost don’t recognize them, well Michael happen to change his nose, hair and skin colour as he aged, lets go to some pictures…

Ok, so what can you say about this picture aah, well it  definitely would make the girls scream I’ll tell you that, and probably some men as well, plus some little boys.

This was Jacko’s mug shot when he was arrested by the police in 1993, guess the law men didn’t let him put his make up on before they took him, the picture is not pretty and neither were the charges, he looks like he could play the Joker in the next Batman movie.

 About those child molestation accusations which have dogged MJ’s career, it was not helped by his statement “I don’t see any thing wrong with sharing my bed with children”
Normal people frown on that sort of thing Jacko, in fact you are usually put on a sex offenders monitoring list and scorned by the society.
 He is known as The Peter Pan of Pop, Wacko Jacko, The Gloved One. the unforgettable the Michael Jackson, still most known as “The King of Pop”! Happy Birthday to you

Where were you when Michael Jackson’s Thriller music video made its debut on television 25 years ago?

In 1983 Thriller was unleashed on to television screens thrilling audiences with its special effects and thrilling dance moves. Veteran movie director John Landis directed it, he had been specially chosen by Jackson because of the work he did in “An American Werewolf in Paris”. Michael wanted Landis to change him into a horrific werewolf like what he had seen in that movie.

Thriller started a phenomenon that exists up to now. You would have seen its influence in Madd’s effective 2004 stage presentation “Hard Ears” which featured dancing ghouls.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THEM!

Some people have right hand men I have right hand women, Carolann Scantlebury is one of them. Today was her birthday so I just thought I would focus on her a bit. Carol ann Scantlebury is a woman of many faces.

As you can see she is a talented actress and also a renowned songbird whose specialty was jazz before we discovered her and elevated her to performing with Madd. Carolann is also efficient in film and television having studied in the U.S and can write direct and produce a TV commercial from scratch.

I also admire Carolann for her business savvy and administrative skills, those are some of the reasons we bring her to Barbados every Crop Over to assist Madd in coordinating events.

It is 13th December her birth night and she is here at the computer helping me put together a proposal, that’s why she is one of my favorite women.

Oh, one very important thing I almost forgot, Carolann is the creative genius who came up with the name “Boyce Voice” so Darron and I have to thank her for that, otherwise all like now you would be reading something else.

Oh I forgot to mention that today is my birthday! If you are worried that I might become older and wiser you need not fear. As you can see by the above self designed caricature of my self, a creation like that can only come from a mentally deranged and troubled mind.

If you read my latest “eggs” article below you would see that I continue to wallow in the bliss of eternal ignorance daring to speak when I should shut up, speaking a truthful ignorance that continues to invoke the ire of the powers that be.

So while I grow older there are no plans of being wiser on the horizon any time soon, number one item on my birthday agenda is to be igrunter than ever..

You so dangerous then, you want to know who the clown is right? Talk about a government meeting and a clown and you ears prick *1.

I attended a government meeting at the Prime Ministers office yesterday. This meeting consisted of cultural reps United Artistes of Barbados (UAB), Barbados Association of Tent Managers (BATMAN), National Cultural Foundation (NCF) and was chaired by Minister of State in Prime Ministers Office Reverend Atherley.

If this meeting were made into a movie it could be accurately entitled “The Good the Badd and The Clown;

Let’s break that down…..

THE GOOD: Minister Joseph Atherley!

I am not picking him because he has Reverend in front of his name, I am picking Minister Atherley because of his sincere efforts which I witnessed myself to secure an agreement which would benefit the cultural industries and not disadvantage NCF. Also his excellent chairmanship which kept the parties in check including my self so that the meetings remained productive but yet views passionately expressed but yet remained amicable.

“As amicable as you could expect for a meeting that had Peter Boyce, Ian Estwick (NCF) and Sinclair Gittens (BATMAN) present”. That’s what the minister said…… wait something is wrong with that sentence let me re write it…

As amicable as you could expect for a meeting that had Peter Boyce Sinclair Gittens and Ian Estwick present! Now that looks better, I had to move my name from next to Ian Estwick’s.

THE BADD: Stinking NCF! There were many underhanded actions and lies from the NCF that were exposed at the meetings. At one point Stinking NCF even attempted to renege on the decision that had been previously reached to increase the Party Monarch prize monies. If it were not for the Minister Atherley standing firm on behalf of the industry I assure you that all like now there would have been cultural anarchy, I would have made sure of that!
We will discuss more on NCF at a later date in a post that will be entitled “NCF; with a Stinking Attitude”. Watch for it but now let us move on to ……

THE CLOWN

Who is the freaking*2 clown? That got wunnah nuh? Let’s go through who was at that meeting that could be the clown…

Dwayne Grazette was at that meeting, maybe it could be Dwayne. Also at the meeting was Al Gilkes, and myself. I was there! I am a comedian by profession so maybe I am the freaking clown, you never know…
Well the Clown was all over the place performing for us bumbling and fumbling and at times professing ignorance of what it was suppose to know. Its one thing to be a clown but to be igrunt and a clown at the same time that is too much.

May be Sinclair Gittens is the clown, the suspense is killing me, what about sexy Penny from NCF? WHO IS THE FREAKING CLOWN?? Listen I done talking to wunnah, I gotta go and get ready to go to a press conference at the Prime Ministers office.

By the way Party Monarch prize monies are being increased by 10% effective from this year, (unless NCF has their way and tries to change it again) that means an overall increase of $16’100.00. It’s a start!

Today is Darron Grant’s Birthday, “Who the heck is Darron”? you might ask.

I am not surprised, he is a very unmemorable person.

Darron is the person who came to me with the idea for this blog and administrates it. I am publishing this without him knowing so he will be freaking surprised.

May I also remind you Darron is also the person who prevented me from seeing the end of the movie “Hit for Six”. In spite of that great sin he has committed you can still wish him happy birthday when you see him. I am not one to hold grudges but please, GIVE HIM NO GIFTS!
