Boyce Voice is designated pretty much to deal with things that are entertainment based; I leave the heavy political stuff to my blog friends Barbados Underground and Bajan Reporter. But when a president of a United States stands up looks in a camera and utters the statement “childrens do learn”, I feel that has crossed over from political into entertainment which puts it in my domain.

This statement was made by President Bush when he was speaking to some school kids at an elementary school recently.
As you would know this kind of “green” language is not new to the president in fact there is now a form of language popularized by him known as “bushism”.

Here are some more “bushisms” that president bush “are” famous for…
• Rarely is the question asked, is our children learning?

• I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.

• Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.

• Make no mistake about it, I understand how tough it is, sir. I talk to families who die.

• You’re working hard to put food on your family.

• Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream.

• This is still a dangerous world. It’s a world of madmen and uncertainty and potential mential losses.

• There’s an old saying in Tennessee—I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee—that says: fool me once, shame on … (long pause) shame on you? (long pause) Fool me – you can’t get fooled again.

• You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.

Have you realized how they have this “hidden gayness” thing being placed in movies these days? There’s this trend now, where you are watching a normal movie and all of a sudden some man starts kissing another man in a deep and passionate way. A good example is the movie Talladega Nights; The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. I was watching what I thought was a normal comedy about a racing car driver, next thing yuh know there was this scene where Borat actor Sacha Baron Cohen had his tongue down Will Ferrell’s throat. This happened several times in the movie. I had to go and check the rating on the movie to see if it was rated “G” for gayness. It was enough to make you wanna puke.

Its like Hollywood is saying since there were some people who did not have the stomach to see two men “going at it” in the 2005 bulla hit Broke Back Mountain, lets see where we can insert “it” in normal movies so we can catch them by surprise.

Pushing Gayness is Hollywood’s thing, even in TV comedy sitcoms you realize there is this trend where there is always a time when some character announces they are gay and they get all this big audience applause and it’s a big celebration. You know, like what happened with Ellen. In Barbados while we are not as homophobic as Jamaica, I would not advise you to go home, get every body together and excitedly announce that you are gay and expect any applause or celebration. It probably might be a good idea to explore alternative living arrangements before you do as that sort of thing is still frowned on down here.

So watch out for the Gayness they hide in normal movies to try and sway you. There’s a new movie now out starring Kevin James and Adam Sandler titled “Chuck and Larry”. I’d be careful with that one if I was you!

Dickey is coming to Barbados! That is the ad that I heard being blasted on local radio.At first I was confused as I thought dickey was already available here, after closer listening I realized that it was the American writer Eric Jerome Dickey who was cuming sorry coming back for a second visit.

.According to the ad, Dickey is now inviting females to show him Barbados romantic spots. Now I don’t know bout you but when a man name “Dickey” inviting my woman to show him romantic spots I sit up and take notice.

One of my female associates is a big fan of Dickey, I have seen Jan reading her Dickey books and seems quite obsessed, she is so ad-dick-ted to her Dickey literature that some times she brings the books to meetings so she can read a bit of Dickey in the breaks. Last time Jerome Dickey was here I heard he found it interesting what his last name meant in the Caribbean he acted as though it was just a coincidence. That doesn’t fool me one bit, a man who writes books targeted at women just happen to be named Dickey, yeah right!

How come his last name is the biggest thing on the cover?

You think he did not know that when he wrote DICKEY in big bold letters at the front of his books that women would buy them like Madd! And as for when he playing he does not know what his name means. In the United States where Jerome comes from, what is known as a “Dick”? So he just added “ey” to that and had the perfect marketing tool. I wonder about the female members of the Dickey family? I would like to see the woman who introduces herself as “Susie Dickey” she would probably make friends easily.

Now Mr Dickey is back again asking we women to show him romantic spots. He probably means like the Drill hall and other secluded beaches, and we know they do not call that beach the “Drill” hall for nothing.
