Tribute to Rihanna; She Looks like “Food”

rihanna-good-pic-blog.jpg

I came across this picture of the Rihanna, winner of the Barbados Music Awards Female Entertainer of the year,I was quite taken then…

I had to get up from the computer and walk a bit to calm myself. This woman look so good then, now here’s a woman who looks like food!
I am sure the men out there would be quite taken by this picture and some women too

Just look at Rihanna lying in that bed with those legs and lips, looking all sensuous… wouldn’t you like to get under her umbrella…? ………I have just been advised by Darron that this is not that kind of a blog…so I must stop

I was a bit miffed that Rihanna did not make it to the Barbados Music Awards this year, I considered going into one of the bathrooms and hanging myself but I had people to take home, plus I would have missed Krosfyah’s performance.
The below Madd track I want to dedicate to the beautiful Rihanna, its like Eric Lewis is singing about her in this song.
Girl you look so sweet
you gimmie cold bumps from my head to my feet

Click and take a listen to the song “FOOD” and see what I mean

Just take note there’s a difference between eating and “biting” ….

Barbados Music Awards Workshop; Refreshments will be Served!

bma-workshop-promo.jpg

Whoa, Turning Music into gold, I could use some more jewelery, the Barbados Music Awards is definitely a must go this year…
When I peruse the above poster and look at the lineup of entertainment industry professionals who will be taking part, one question comes to my mind …. What refreshments will be served?

Will it be fishcakes and Samosas, will there be those little roti snacks like what I got at the Government meetings? Will there be snacks there for vegetarians?

Another pertinent question is why even do they list the presenters and not the food on the flyer, yes its nice to hear that Rihanna’s manager Evan Rogers and Coscap’s CEO Erica Smith are going to be there, but you cant eat them.

I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THE FOOD!

Last point, Don Pooh, what sort of a name is “Pooh”? Is he family to Winnie the Pooh? I gotta hear him speak, when he finishes his presentation I would ask that in the Q & A session.

I must admit it does seem like quite an impressive line up of International Industry Professionals that you would probably never get close too other wise, that why you should take advantage of this opportunity, be early last year all the seats went in a hurry..

If the Presenters don’t excite you remember, refreshments are being served!

Barbados Music Awards this Sunday

Lets see how smart you are, what is wrong with below advertisement for Sunday’s Barbados Music Awards? see if you can spot the error…..

bma-awards-ad.jpg

Ok now there are some among you Mr Traxx included, who would say that the error is the Hon Prime Minister is now David Thompson, is that what you said?
Well YOU ARE WRONG! Yes the PM is now David, but the really big error is that MY NAME IS NOT MENTIONED..
I see Shontelle, Lil Rick, Beanieman , Machel etc, but where is mention of Peter Boyce?
Ive got a good mind to phone Ronnie and give him a piece of my mind if I didn’t think he would withdraw my invite.

I always figured that when I heard Rihanna was not coming I would have been the featured act, you know how many legions of People would flock to the gym to meet Peter Boyce?

They are scores of people looking to curse me or lick me up for something I wrote on Boyce Voice and Ronnie would have had a sold out show..
wait till I see show producers Ronnie Morris then and that one Russel Ruck!! and I will be seeing them when I attend the Barbados Music Awards this Sunday, looking forward to seeing you there as well…

P.S; Did I mention Boyce Voice was nominated for a BMA award? I have my acceptance speech done write, If I don’t win, I have another kind of speech which will make the gym a most colourful place to be…

Vote for Ronnie Morris at COSCAP AGM

ronnie-jpeg.jpg

Received the below email from Ronnie Morris who is an entertainer and director of the Timeless production team of Barbados Music Awards….

Dear all,

Please come out and vote for me, as I am attempting to become a member of the Board of COSCAP. I think that as a young person in the industry, it would be good to have representation for young artistes on COSCAP’s Board. The meeting to vote will be held this Saturday at Almond Catering (in same building as Opa!) in Christ Church at 10AM sharp. I need your support on this one.

Refreshments will be served.

Regards,
Ronnie Morris

We entertainers need to throw our support behind Ronnie in his quest to be nominated to the board of COSCAP (Copyright Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers Inc). With vibrant young talents like Ronnie on the board it will be a new opportunity to bring new direction and vision to the agency. So I want to encourage all COSCAP members to come out and participate in Saturday’s Annual General Meeting instead of stopping home and complaining when the voting is done and the same old people are reinstated.

Of course while I encourage you to be there and I am hoping to be there too, I am being optimistic as I was unceremoniously ejected from last years AGM under the guise I was not a member despite joining up several months before.

Let’s see what happens this year..
So come out and support Ronnie at COSCAP AGM this Saturday if not for the sake of making our industry a more viable place to do business, for the sake of the refreshments….

Boyce Voice; Filling the Void

boyce-heading-2-blog-choice.jpg

I was expecting that you would see a full list of the Barbados Music Award nominees in this weekend’s newspaper. Instead the Nation’s Saturday Sun published an “edited list of some of the nominees”. I would think that journalistic responsibility would dictate that at least once you would publish ALL of the names of the entities and persons who were nominated so the public would know and not just who you feel like highlighting.

Boyce Voice had been unaware that we had been nominated for an award and if we were waiting to see it in the media we still would not have known. Had it not been for Boyce Voice along with the Timeless website there would have been no one source where you could go and see ALL the nominees for the Music Awards as we said “uncut and unedited“. Boyce Voice was able to get the highest hits since we have been operating because of our publishing of the full BMA nominee list, and because of your interest and feed back it is now our most commented post.

This kind of omission by the traditional media underscores the importance of the continued existence of sites not only of Boyce Voice but Kadoment.com, Bajan Dance Hall, Bajan Reporter and the controversial Barbados Underground.
Technology allows us to have a voice that can circumvent traditional media and to fill that void which is sometimes left when the full truth needs to be told. So therefore in some ways we should not complain about the omission, that is why Boyce Voice is here, to fill that void.

BMA: Corner Stone Comment; Ronnie Needs to Curse

me-n-radio.JPG

Me with Awardee Stalwart Lord Radio at BMA’s last year…

I am going to have to teach Ronnie Morris how too curse! I think it would help to assist him in extricating himself from some of the predicaments he finds himself in when it comes to the Barbados Music Awards.

I am speaking specifically about some comments made by Musician Rickey Aimey concerning the Corner Stone Awards when he was on the 98.1 radio station with Teshia Hinds the other day. Ricky said that the thing about the Corner Stones is the BMA always leaves out a lot of the older entertainers who have contributed to the industry and these awards should be given to these older people first. Teshia then invited Ronnie to call in to respond ASAP and he did (Teshia seems to have clout). Ronnie phoned in and put forward creditable defense of how the Corner stone awardees were selected. He stated that there was a long term plan by Timeless the BMA production company to honor all the deserving people over a period of years.

I admire Ronnie’s patience and tolerance in dealing with these matters. If it were me I would have just called in and start cursing. I would have called in and opened with be Jeezus Ch—-t (swear word here) is you a conch??!! You can’t give every body in Barbados awards all at the same time! Regardless of how you do it, somebody is going to get left out. Wait ’till next r—sole year. Then I would have cursed Teshia on general principle for calling my name and then put the phone down.

The BMA have honored Lord Radio, the Merry Men and Gabby. When you saw me at the awards last year walking around showing off with a trophy like I had won it, I had really collected it on behalf of calypso stalwart, Romeo. These are all examples that BMA does honor the older stalwarts, but at the same time they honor younger persons who would have made contributions as well. Madd received a Cornerstone when BMA started in 2005 and I like to think we are still young.
Would it be correct to eliminate Rihanna whose impact on the international world has surpassed any previous Caribbean artiste because she is young? I think Ricky’s point is that the older stalwarts are expected to die sometime soon so you should get them before they go, but here’s how I see it: If you happen to die before you get a corner stone, pick it up with the Lord, maybe if you explain to him you have not yet received a Corner Stone he just might send you back.
