Testing Testing 1,3,1,3

Check the title “testing testing testing 1, 3, 1,3″ you should be asking what happened to the number 2?

There is a funny story behind that, and when I say funny I mean homophobic funny.

When I was in Jamaica recently our group was touring in 3 buses, I noticed the buses were numbered 1, 3, 4 skipping the number 2. So while talking to the Jamaican bus driver,I asked what happened to the number 2 bus and here’s what he said.

Appearently Jamaicans have developed an extreme aversion to the number 2. We know that “number 2″ in the Caribbean is some times used to refer to what someone does when they go to the bathroom. So because Number 2 is associated with something which comes from the behind.

In Jamaica Number 2 has been therefore designated as a “botty boy” number. So the driver said if a number 2 bus turns up people ask “whey you gine wid that botty bus?” And then people started stoning the buses and so they had to take the 2’s off the buses.

Because of the aversion to the number 2, when sound men are testing the microphone in Jamaica they now say testing testing 1, 3,1,3!

And where did this flawed concept originate?

Music!

Appearently this perception of the number 2 was birthed in certain song lyrics. This speaks to the power of music and power and influence of entertainers. It also speaks to the extreme homophobic nature of Jamaicans.

If I was Elton John, I wouldn’t quite start planning my Jamaica tour just yet!

Testing testing 1,3 out!

I Like Women Badd! (Comedy Show Report)

I like women badd! Not just for the reasons you think but because of their ability to excel in all areas.

Some of my favorite movies star women, like Kill Bill and Long Kiss Good Night.

This is my lead in to complimenting the outstanding performances of the only two female acts on the Mothers Day Comedy show recently held at the gymnasium, our own Jennifer Walker and Yolanda Holder in Double Laffs and Trinidad’s Raquel price.

Double laffs was wucklessly funny but yet delivered a serious message, the need for men to be tested for prostate cancer along with commenting on other social issues.

Jennifer and Yolanda was so tight then, they did a great job representing bajan women.

Presenting a new improved slimmer Raquel Price, with curves too in the right places. She was Hilarious as hell! Her entire routine was commentaries on the Akon incident, church hypocrisy, raising children, politics and gay rights. all mixed with some wicked talk about her attempts at anal sex. She was like an X rated Oprah.

Good comedy should not just be funny, but should also educate and these ladies did just that.

They were excellent!

Thats why I like women Badd, They Rock!

Warning to men; Do not ever dare to heckle Raquel Price at a show!

She has this ability to stand from the stage and publicly identify what ever sexual activity you engage in with your mouth, and it is not usually with the opposite sex! Nuff Said!

The Gay Entertainment Thing

Did you see all that fuss that was made in Tobago recently because Elton John was scheduled to perform at a Jazz Festival there?
The church kicked up a sacred fuss because Elton was GAY!

It’s like they were scared Elton would sway the men with his Gayness or something. A normal man might be watching the concert and suddenly say “Hey Elton John is singing quite beautifully tonight … I think I am Gay” and then goes over…

My opinion on the entertainment gay thing is this…….

Who gives a Rats Ass!

U should not be interested in who a person sleeps with but the business ethics they bring to the table.
There are some bad minded people out there who walk bout spreading lies, rumors and undermining you. Does the fact that they are heterosexual give you any comfort? NO

So it’s the standard of business a person practices, not what they do with their private parts in private..

What do you think?
