As Tent manager of Bacchanal Time when I first heard this song I was “frighten”, de man calling people names then…
Kidsite with “Ah Frighten” When I hear songs like this it reminds me of the serious purpose calypso serves of being the mouth piece of the people, that is why we must ensure that this kind of “biting” social commentary lives on forever.
It Lives on for ever in Bacchanal Time calypso tent and also on Bacchanal Time 2007 DVD Soon to be released.

Here’s Khiomal and Mikey performing “Bashment Bacchanal” one of my favorite songs for the season. Khiomal ably represented Bacchanal Time with this song in the 2007 Party Monarch competition and placed 3rd.
This song was also used as the opening theme song for Bacchanal Time calypso tent this year for obvious reasons of course…

I really thought this song would have won road march, this song so hard then, how could a song be so nasty and so clean at the same time ?

Rick placed 2nd and 3rd in Tune of Crop competition this year, plus he won Party Monarch. Rick win so much this year, 2007 should be proclaimed the Year of the Hypa Dog! If you were to read my previous post I want to dip my cherry in your chocolate, Rick should change his song to “U like eating too much Saskia…”

Do you feel if you were to blow a “conch” it would sound like the one in the top of Rick’s song?

Out of Guyana is Adrian Dutchin with a controversial track. Is it possible or impossible? He just wants to know.

From the 2007 Crop Over album Underground Soca Vol 1 which also features Sicki’s Bad Man and Peter Ram doing plenty Pumpin’.

Heres a nice video where Adrian touches on that perennial question: is it possible to be in love with two ladies at the same time? Well I will tell you that it is not possible for you to take the same two ladies to the beach and expect them to “fun and frolic” like you will see happening in this music video. I would not advise you to try that at home.

Take a look at Adrian “horning”… sorry I mean Adrian Dutchin in this exciting video where he does his own stunts, sitting on the back of a driving car and taking the same two women he likes out at the same time, an even more dangerous stunt!

I agree with Bounce a fire, “Can’t Wait” was the song I had picked as being a sure thing to win the Tune of the Crop.
“Soka Junkie” would have been placing for sure but there is something about “Cant Wait” and Rick’s effective use of Bajanisms that imbues it into your psyche.

The title of the song should be “Caann Wait” which more captures how Rick sings it and how we say it. I heard Lil Rick complaining he could not get streamers for his presentation at Party Monarch so when he performed in “Bacchanal time vs the Best” we made sure he got all the streamers he wanted. (see pic)

Dale is performing the song which has every one hooked “Soka Junkie”, you can click on link below to go to our Socacasts section and take a listen to the addictive tune.
When the song first came out Kevin Hinds from Madd told me he had heard Mr Dale singing a song that epitomised every thing you would want in a catchy calypso and he should be on the “Best of the Best show” and Kevin was right.
“Soka Junkie” has won not only “Tune of the Crop” but also Starcom’s “Peoples Monarch” car.

Boyce Voice would like to extend deepest sympathies to the families of the 6 persons who lost their lives on their way to the Party Monarch competition yesterday.

(I spelt his name wrong in previous post because I am an idiot)

Mahahmeed is known as the illegitimate son of Ali Singh the Madd character I play. John Mahahmeed sounds so much like me that he was on Hott FM the other evening and I was in a daze trying to figure out how I could be driving my car and be on the radio live at the same time.

Fortunately Carolann explained it was not me on the radio but John Mahahmeed. I was releived as I thought I had split into two.
