Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton (lol)

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

Do you see “laugh out loud” that is in the title of this post?

That was placed there by Darron because I sent him this “Kenny and-Dolly video to post on Boyce Voice.

He obviously does not know how big Kenny and Dolly is bout here in the Caribbean. They are not as big as Madd mind you, but they have quite a bit of standing as it relates to Christmas.

From when we had the Rue Rue retail music store back in the 90’s Kenny and Dolly “Once upon a Christmas CD” was always a hot seller.

So today Christmas, Boyce Voice is presenting the video for you too view.

I think what also has Darron is the mention of the Christ child and the religious symbolism epitomized in the presentation.

Between you and me, I think Darron is evil, like Santa Claus…

I wished you Merry Christmas yesterday so I will not do it again today, get a life…

Bajan Movie on DVD

hit-for-six-poster-blog-pic.jpg

Remember when I blogged about the bajan movie Hit for Six when Boyce Voice first started months ago? I had asked you to curse Darron as he had caused me to leave the cinema early and missed the climatic ending of the movie. As you know missing the climax is never a good thing and so now I have a chance to correct it. The glorious news is “Hit for Six” is now available on DVD for you to own and watch in the comfort of your own home. So if you missed it here’s a chance to view it or if you enjoyed it here’s a chance to watch it again and again.

I always wondered why this local production was not released on DVD earlier. If you follow the American trend as it relates to the extracting from a movie every cent of profit, as soon as a movie finishes its run in the cinema it is released on DVD to continue generating revenue. Waiting until the Christmas period to release is probably good as people are now out shopping like Madd and would be able to buy “Hit for Six” as a gift. Make sure and buy the legal DVD and not from that pirate lady in the bus stand!

*A Boyce Voice Xmas tip that you can utilize is: you can buy the DVD, watch it then reseal it in plastic and give as a gift and the recipient would not be the wiser. It’s not like when you watch it you would take something off it. Take that as a “Tip for Six”.

U have to compliment his management Santia and the Pyramid Entertainment Group on this spectacular wuck up video production.

Girls Gone Wild is a video which touches your heart and other places, you will want to watch it again and again.

I find the performance of the women to be captivating and intense, the dancer on the cycle seems to be so engaged in her task she is fascinating.

Ayana John; Guns and Roses Music Video

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video
Here is talented singer and great person Ayana John with her music video “Guns & Roses”. Ayana is a performer who is going places, I saw her at Starcom Network just last week (that’s one of the places she went) and heard her on 98.1 fm with Teshia week before. The vivacious Ayana was very interactive in her involvement in the making of this music video just as she is with all aspects of her career.

I had the pleasure of working with Ayana with our “YouthmaniA” event in June and with the confidence and enthusiasm that she has nothing can stop her from making it…

Here is the music video to one of her songs that is getting quite a bit of rotation of recent times “Guns & Roses”. Click above and check it out…

We Want We Videos; “Time for Change” Music Video

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

Some thing which was brought to my attention when I served as a judge in the Barbados Music Awards nominee selection process recently is the volume and quality of the music videos that are being produced by our Barbadian acts.

I was totally blown away by the special effects, abstract concepts and high production quality in videos by “Kite” “Masala” along with Philip Scantlebury among others. What puzzles me is that we have a government owned television station that boasts they are “we tv” and we never see these outstanding local productions. Instead we are treated to old videos by Atlantic Star, Peabo Bryson and Engleburke Humperdink (I can’t even spell his freaking name) who don’t give a rats ass on whether they show on we tv or not.

Other local videos like Peter Ram, Biggie Irie, Ayana John and the video we feature here, David Kirton come to mind for being top quality productions. Ronnie Morris mentioned at the meeting that credit goes to the executive producers for financing these videos and that is true, but credit also goes to the technical people for their shooting and editing of these creative productions.

I am involved in video production and I know it is not easy.

Fortunately we have “we blog” Boyce Voice so we can highlight we videos as we have been doing, so lets do it then, this is David Kirton and he says its “Time for a Change”. I agree with him 100%.

David Kirton Green Camouflage Video

We featured this song before, now it’s the music video to the song, local reggae artiste David Kirton with “Green Camouflage”. This reminds me up to this weekend I read in the newspaper of a guy charged in the law courts for wearing camouflage clothing, it is deemed to illegal here in Barbados.

I think that is so unfair then, some years ago some people committed crimes wearing camouflage, so authorities banned it. Of course that did not stop crime from spiraling on an upward trend since then, but the colour remains banned!
As you should know camouflage is my favorite colour and I know they are others out there who like it badd too.
Camouflage lovers it is time we take a stand! This Saturday lets us don every piece of Camouflage clothing we can find and march through our capital Bridgetown singing David Kirton’s “Green Camouflage” song.
Of course I probably will not be there and if you get arrested and your ass thrown in jail, don’t call my name!
But I will stand in solidarity with you in camouflage spirit!
In the mean time let us check out David’s video in preparation for Saturday entitled “Green Camouflage”
