Just the other day I was writing a post entitled �Happy Birthday Michael Jackson� who would have thought �that a few short months later that I would be writing a post on his death.When I first heard a news flash come over on the radio saying Michael had been hospitalised I thought it was one of those publicity stunts to bring attention to MJ�s tour.

Next I heard it announced, Michael Jackson was dead, which I took in unbelievable stunned silence. Michael Jackson can�t die, I mean he is Michael Jackson; can the Smooth Criminal Thriller Billie Jean MJ really die?Then the tributes and music started confirming the saddening news.

He was the indisputable King of Pop and one the greatest entertainers in the world. He was a visionary who revolutionized the entertainment world with his videos and music. His immense popularity broke through demographic barriers of age class and colour. He was loved by all. Except those who hated him, and to hate him would mean you had to know of him, such was the extent of his fame.

I have been doing a comical vocal imitation of Michael on radio for the past 20 years. If I did an impression now of Mc Hammer who was big in the 80’s, people would be “Mc who??” But an impression of MJ never failed to entertain the masses because everyone knew who he was. Now on the eve of his comeback concert, he is gone, space walking to that musical studio in the sky, reflecting the words of one of his own songs, Michael Jackson is �Gone Too Soon.�

 Americans always making a mountain out of a mole hill!…

Take for example the latest uproar about pictures of President Obama at the summit of Americas shaking hands with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. 

Some Americans are outraged saying it shows a weakness smiling with a man who called President Bush “A devil”, At least he didn’t throw shoes at him, but lets get back to the point.

What did Americans expect Obama to do? snub Chavez and “cut he eye” at he? Or bound cross the table and lock off Chavez neck?

Some years ago, I was involved in one of my usual Crop Over battles with me as President of Batman tent managers association vs. NCF CEO Dr Allyson Leacock.

  I was criticised by one of my associates for having my picture taken hugging CEO Allyson at a social function, He thought it sent a bad message as I was seen as fraternizing with the opposition and setting a bad example.

I disagreed with that profusely; I believe as high profile people we have a responsibility to set a good example.

Who is to say because you and a person have opposing views that you can’t be friends or engage in amicable relations.

I must admit that after Allyson I never really had the inclination to hug another CEO, maybe because that post was taken over by a man, maybe because of who the man was.

I remember being at the Prime Minister’s office at the conclusion of another dispute some years later and when setting up a press conference the Minister requested to position the then NCF CEO to sit beside me in the photo and that CEO refused, so I suppose hugging was out of the question, I was so hurt then.

Back to Obama, I would like to commend the President in doing the right thing and not being myopic and puerile in his behavior, he shook hands with all the other leaders that attended the summit why shouldn’t he shake hands with Chavez?

P.S; I want to see a picture of Obama shaking hands with our Prime Minister David Thompson, I should have given our PM a book of Boyce Voice posts to give to Obama so my hits could shoot up too

Whats all this negative hullabaloo about Madonna adopting a Malawian girl? I am sorta freaking loss.

Here you have it that superstar Madonna wants to take a three Year old girl named “Mercy” from living in an orphanage in one of the most improvised nations in the world.
She wants take that Mercy to the United States of America to live the life of a privileged kid complete with MacDonald’s, IPod, education, health care, a nanny and all the perks that come with being a rich kid.

Would you believe people complaining??
Talking about the girl should be raised by her extended family; she is living in an orphanage for Christ’s sake, that’s where unwanted children end up.
All of a sudden some family member can be heard saying they want to raise the girl.
In other words they now want money from Madonna.

I tell you if I was that little girl when I grow up and I realise that Madonna wanted to adopt me to take me to the land of Barbie and Britney Spears and some member of my family keep me back to suffer and I now bout de place starve out fetching water and struggling to survive in one of the poorest places in the world I would be vex as hell.
Extended family my ass, I want to be Madonna’s baby!

In fact if those bad minded people were to truly think of the long term best interests of the child they would not oppose Madonna.

I want to applaud the laudable efforts of Madonna for attempting to “rescue” Mercy and give her a life every little  girl dreams of.

The adoption judge needs to have Mercy on Mercy and let her go.

Well to Madonna, if it doesn’t work out and you want to come down here and adopt me, Boyce would be gone

Like how I am right now gone because this post is dun!

Some years ago I wrote a blogged a piece entitled “I want to Kick a Nation Photographer” but have u seen photographers recently? They don’t look like sweet breads. Then I was saying maybe I will wait till I see my FB (Face Book) friend photographer Cherie Pitt and try something, when the thing fracas happened with the Police I realized Cherie would probably have given me a run for my money too.

I see now in the news the footage of Rap Star Kanye West attacking a photographer and smashing his camera at an airport and I am again motivated.

My Facebook friend Dawn commented on it, the sentiment was “people spend their lives and do anything to get before cameras and get popular then when they are big they grab photographers and smash the same cameras,

Maybe Peter Boyce falls under that category, back in the 80’s I went out of my way to get in the papers, when I finally got a little write up in the advocate I was so excited I treasured it for weeks. Now sometimes I look in the paper and sometimes curse when seeing articles about me, usually my bad days start with an early phone call saying “u see what is in the paper about u today?” 

I would dearly love to smash a camera, is just I feel the photographer would drive some cuffs in my ass and make me pay for it. One of these days when I will meet a small photographer and smash his camera, or wait until I see a lady photographer and “Chris Brown” her camera.

The last picture of me that was taken was outside the NCF where I went to attend a meeting, that picture was taken by Charles Grant who is Cherie’s father. Now Charles is a very serious looking man, I don’t recall ever seeing him smile, I dread what to think would happen to me if I were to grab his camera and smash it into the ground. You would think reading this I have something against the Grants and photographers but I assure u that could not be further from the truth.

Regardless of your feelings for or against media photographers, one must exercise self control less you end up before the law courts being charged like what is happening to Kayne West right now.

So do not Kayne West any photographers to day….. and dont Chris Brown any women either…..     I could not resist that

Previously abused show bizz personality Robin Givens has given advice, Dr Phil and all the American TV morning shows have been all shouting in tandem that Rihanna going back Chris beat up Brown was a bad idea.

And to add injury to insult now it is now reported that Rihanna is in the studio doing a song with Chris “Bust Ya face” Brown.

So while radio stations have been pulling Brown’s songs off the radio to support her, Rihanna is doing a song with the specimen, can you imagine that?

FYI to Rihanna believe it or not there are other men in the world to choose from, in fact research has shown they are billions of them. You need to stop this “Disturbia” path you are on before it’s too late. 

Besides Oprah says no, and if Oprah says no, you tell Chris beater boy Brown to go.

To finish this “Disturbia” Post I will humbly offer for consideration a lyric rewrite to Rihanna for the duet with “Chris “bust yuh ass” Brown.

Brown was driving a vehicle with Robyn F. as the front passenger on an unknown street in Los Angeles. Robyn F. picked up Brown’s cellular phone and observed a three-page text message from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.

“A verbal argument ensued and Brown pulled the vehicle over on an unknown street, reached over Robyn F. with his right hand, opened the car door and attempted to force her out. Brown began applying pressure to Robyn F.’s left and right carotid arteries, causing her to be unable to breathe and she began to lose consciousness.

“She reached up with her left hand and began attempting to gouge his eyes in an attempt to free herself. Brown bit her left ring and middle fingers and then released her. While Brown continued to punch her, she turned around and placed her back against the passenger door. She brought her knees to her chest, placed her feet against Brown’s body and began pushing him away. Brown continued to punch her on the legs and feet, causing several contusions.

“Robyn F. began screaming for help and Brown exited the vehicle and walked away. A resident in the neighborhood heard Robyn F.’s plea for help and called 911, causing a police response. An investigation was conducted and Robyn F. was issued a Domestic Violence Emergency Protective Order.”

The international media is rife with the word that Rihanna Fenty has reunited with alleged woman beater Chris Brown.

In my previous blog on this incident I asked if Chris Brown had eaten from the root of ignorance, I would now have to ask if he shared it with Rihanna.

An International media quote stated “Rihanna and Chris Brown are both back in the city where she was beaten to a bloody pulp just weeks ago” 

We also saw the extent of the beating Rihanna received in the police photo which since then circulated on the internet.

Its times like this that I realise that I don’t know what love is, if love is a partner who beats me viciously to a bloody pulp and because he calls and says “Happy Birthday” I pick up my ass and be back with them I probably will never know.

The fairy tale perception which is perpetuated by the media has been shattered, when you see Rihanna and Brown together now it represents a battered woman who is in a relationship with a vicious abusive man.

What is most concerning is the example it sets for young males who idolize Brown who will see the reconciliation as a sign its ok to “share some blows’ when it is needed to keep your woman in line. 

“If a bitch puts herself in a mans position then a bitch should get hit”

That’s just one of the many asinine comments to my previous Rihanna Chris blog where some are condoning and even applauding the beating.

What message does Rihanna returning to Brown send to the average woman in an abusive relationship who will now feel there is no choice but to stick with the stupid ass man.If a woman like Rihanna with her resources cant leave how can I?

Rihanna’s father says he will support her what ever decision she makes, frankly I find it hard to support people who do igrunce regardless of who you are. 

Some people call it foolish for Rihanna to go back, some are saying its love  the words that come to my mind I will not say as I cannot refer to a fellow Combermerian in that manner.

Lets hope for Rihanna’s sake she is right and she does not come to regret her decision, maybe in the fullest of time she will have a fairy tale ending, though in real life that rarely ever happens…

What could have possessed Chris Brown’s brain that he could think could raise his hand and hit our Bajan Superstar Combermere Queen Rihanna?

Hast he eaten from the root of ignorance, is he on drugs or is he just a dumb ass?

There we were looking for Rihanna to perform at the Grammys last night and to see her win some more awards and shout out “Barbados this one is for you” one more time.

Next thing we hear this morning how Chris Brown and Rihanna were driving on their way to Grammys got in an argument and Brown injured a Fenty in her face and turned himself into Police. As a result of the incident neither of them made it to the awards.

When you look at a superstar of the stature of Rihanna her face, her legs, her entire body is worth millions of dollars.Look at all the lucrative endorsements Rihanna is involved in, Clinique, Nike, JC Penny Jeans and you would see what Brown threatens when it crosses his little brain to hit her.  

Rihanna needs to set an example for all the females out there who have been hit by stupid ass men, press charges against Brown and leave his dumb chewing gum endorsement ass.  Rihanna is way bigger than Chris Brown and she doesn’t need to be associated to have him to help her career.

I already told my son I don’t want to hear him listening to Chris Brown music or watching his videos again, Chris Brown he needs to see Rihanna Fenty and dont see she, good!

Brown should now be Persona non grata  as it relates to him visiting Barbados in the future and if Rihanna doesn’t leave his ass, it’s going to be me and her or to bajanise it “me and she”!

Jason strikes again! And so does the remake syndrome

I see that on February 13th 2009, a remake of Friday 13th slashes its way on to our cinema screens, note it is not another sequel as the 13 others before but a remake of the original.

It seems to me that the Hollywood has reach the end of its creative cycle and is finding it increasingly hard to produce any thing new that is good, hence they are going back to the good old classics favorites we grew up with.

Evidence can be seen in the proliferation of remakes which are now being churned out by the tinsel town movie making machinery.

There are so many old movies and TV series that are being remade its amazing, Starsky and Hutch, Knight Rider, Battle Star Galactica, Beverley Hills 90210 and Charlie’s Angels.

They also remade Psycho, the avengers and Mission Impossible; of course some of these remakes were so bad the original should not have been touched at all. (Look what they did to Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho”)

Let’s not forget all the classic songs that are now being sampled and released to a new generation as though they are new.

What is the significance of this? Does this say that in this millennium Hollywood and indeed the world has peaked and reached the end of its creative cycle.

Let’s not forget the new installments of Rocky and Rambo, plus a Terminator 4 is now in production as you read and we have the Terminator TV series. 

The entertainment events of our past are now the highlights of our future.

I am sure there are quite a few more remakes you can add that I might have missed and like Arnold they are now promising …..

Is this a man or a goat?

I think its time we start looking at goats differently.

While they are some that might scoff at the thought at a man transforming himself into a goat as reported in the news, maybe we need to stop and laughing and think for a minute…

How do you know the goat you have in your yard is a real goat and not a man in disguise? 

 Some time ago Barbadian authorities were on the look out for missing Nigerians,  

Did any one notice our goat population seem to increase dramatically after that?

How do you even know the goats we have down here are not Nigerians who have transformed themselves because they don’t want to go back.

While Nigerians might have problems fitting among Barbadians because of their accents as goats they would have no problem.

You might have a woman and you think you are being horned but you can’t catch her with any one, think!!

Is there a goat living by her house?

You might need to go outside and have a conversation with it. Man to goat.

I believe an intense study of goats could reveal the answers to questions which we have long searched for, example where is Osama Bin Laden?

For years the United States have been trying to find Osama and have been unable to, is it possible they have been looking for a man when instead they should be looking for a goat?

Have you noticed that in photos Osama has a long beard much like a goat?

Dos’nt that beard look fairly goat like to you?

Now that President Obama has fully taken over this is a matter that should be bought to his attention.

When Obama spoke of “change” was he aware that men could also “change” into goats? Maybe he did!

With the coming of CSME and the possibility that not only Caribbean people but goats will be able to move freely from one territory to a next, we must watch to see what effect this has on our crime rate.

This should be brought to the attention of PM David Thompson as he is now spearheading CSME.It needs to be researched exactly what kind of “grass” the goats down here are into, they could be goats being used as drug mules. This should be brought to the attention of Police Commissioner Darwin Dottin who might not have knowledge of exactly how criminal savy goats have become.

Obviously what is said above would give you reason to be concerned, How can you tell if your goat is really a goat and not a man that change into a goat?
